    Marketing Coordinator

    American Friends of The Hebrew University (AFHU) is a national, not-for-profit organization that provides programs, events, and fundraising activities in support of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel’s foremost center of higher education and research.     Position objective

    We are seeking an intelligent, highly motivated, and adaptable Marketing Coordinator to join AFHU’s Marketing & Communications team. In this role, you will provide collaborative support for various marketing initiatives, take ownership of assigned projects, and offer administrative support to the marketing team. You will actively participate in the development of new programs that align with AFHU’s mission to support the Hebrew University of Jerusalem while delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

    Position Reports to: Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives

    Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. While most work will be conducted remotely, marketing team members are expected to visit the AFHU office in Manhattan occasionally, as needed, to accommodate team requirements and scheduled meetings.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Administrative & Organizational Support

    • Maintain a digital filing system for all marketing materials.
    • Manage the marketing team calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics.
    • Oversee the inventory of marketing collateral and process requests from regional offices for mailing and distribution from the New York office.
    • Provide direct administrative support to the CSO, including calendar management, expense reports, organizing travel, and formatting presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned.

    Public Relations & Media Coordination

    • Liaise with PR representatives and track news and press releases.
    • Review and proofread PR materials to ensure accuracy.
    • Facilitate the internal review process of documents.
    • Identify relevant photos and ensure proper placement.
    • Post PR content to the website and maintain organized records in SharePoint for easy access and archival purposes

    Social Media & Digital Marketing

    • Collaborate with the Associate Marketing Manager to manage and enhance AFHU’s social media presence, including:
      • Daily content creation
      • Strategic planning
      • Performance analytics to increase engagement and strengthen AFHU’s brand.
    • Assist in website-related tasks, including the creation and maintenance of content landing pages and event registration forms.

    Marketing Project Management & Content Development

    • Assist with the planning and execution of marketing projects, ensuring smooth routing and approval processes.
    • Proofread and edit marketing content to maintain accuracy and branding consistency.
    • Maintain organized project documentation and resources.
    • Assist in the creation and development of various marketing materials, including:
      • Digital invitations
      • Briefing sheets
      • Promotional materials
      • Presentations

    Email Marketing & Fundraising Campaigns

    • Assist in the coordination and execution of event-related email campaigns.
    • Create persuasive and engaging email campaigns.
    • Collaborate on the creation and distribution of fundraising e-appeals.
    • Contribute to the development and deployment of monthly eNewsletters.
    • Organize and distribute the monthly AFHU Staff Update email.
    • Track performance metrics of email campaigns and deliver analytics.

    Writing, Editing & Data Management

    • Assist with writing and editing engaging marketing copy for:
      • Web content
      • Email campaigns
      • Event promotions

    Skills/Qualifications required:

    • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field or equivalent experience is required
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Creative, highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail
    • A can-do attitude paired with a willingness to learn and a strong desire to be a team player
    • Must be adaptable, able to handle multiple priorities, and open to evolving job responsibilities
    • Knowledge of digital advertising, social media, and public relations is a plus
    • Experience with the following applications is required:
      • Microsoft Office (including SharePoint)
      • Canva (or similar design tools)
      • Adobe Acrobat
    • Previous experience with the following applications is a plus:
      • Sprout Social (or similar social media management tools)
      • MailChimp
      • WordPress
      • Familiarity with Blackbaud’s Raisers Edge NXT or similar CRM systems

    The salary range for this position is $65,000–$70,000.
