    Description

    WomenRising is seeking a Fund Development Manager to lead our fundraising, cultivation, and mobilization activities for individual and corporate donors, foundations, and volunteers. The Fund Development Manager will guide the organization in transitioning funding from predominantly government support to diversified fundraising streams. The Fund Development Manager is an outstanding communicator who is energetic, amicable, highly organized, and is deeply committed and passionate about creating a meaningful impact on the lives of women and families in the Hudson County community. This position reports to the Executive Director and is based out of our offices in Jersey City, with flexible scheduling opportunities.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Develop, implement, and oversee annual fundraising plan and budget
    • Lead, manage, and supervise all aspects of the organization's fundraising efforts
    • Develop and implement effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to engage prospects, individual donors, corporations, and foundations
    • Design, direct, and execute fundraising and cultivation events
    • Responsible for supervising and directing the work of the Communications and Development Coordinator
    • Design and execute fundraising appeals through direct mail, social media, website, phone and in-person solicitation
    • Conduct research and submit foundation and corporate grant proposals; provide technical support to Program Directors regarding proposals, as needed
    • Create and update cultivation, public relation, and solicitation materials including a case for support, brochures, letters, press releases, annual reports, and additional publications as needed

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Minimum of 5 years development experience in fast-paced nonprofit fundraising environment
    • Proficiency in donor management software, wealth-screening tools, and other fundraising platforms
    • Proven track record of building and maintaining successful strategic funding relationships including individual donors, major gifts, private and corporate foundations
    • Demonstrated success at soliciting individual and corporate gifts, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets
    • Proven track record of successfully managing fundraising and cultivation events
    • An independent leader at ease taking initiative; an enthusiastic collaborator and skilled team builder
    • Highly organized, hyper-focused on the details, attentive listener, and adept multi-tasker
    • Strategic mindset with an ability to think and focus on both the near and long-term
    • Possesses an understanding of the factors which promote or hinder self-sufficiency of women and families
