    Position: Fiscal Director

    Compensation: $90,000 with 100% employer sponsored health insurance and retirement account that includes up to 3% company match.

    Location: On site in NYC with option for flexible hybrid after 6 months contingent upon successfully learning and maintaining all fiscal functions, and providing monthly closing of individual grant billing and organizational-wide reconciliations provided to the executive director for review.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all financial functions, from managing day-to-day transactions and grant administration to developing budgets and ensuring compliance.
    • Manage month-end and year-end closes, cost allocation across various grants, revenue recognition, cash management, and meticulous management of restricted funds.
    • Prepare and submit timely reports to funders and organizational leadership, keeping everyone informed of our financial standing.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Deep understanding of non-profit accounting principles, particularly as they relate to grant management and compliance.
    • Expertise in QuickBooks Online, with a focus on fund accounting and using a classing system to track individual grants.
    • Comfort working with auditors, preparing year-end adjustments, and managing restricted fund balances.
    • Advanced Excel skills for creating grant budgets and conducting detailed expense analyses for audits.
    • Strong communication skills to present financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
