    We are seeking a proactive results-driven Job Developer to join our team. This person will be responsible for building and maintaining strong partnerships with employers, understanding labor market trends, and facilitating employment opportunities for 14—25-year-old participants in the Summer Youth Employment Program (6 months of the year) Also, clients 18+ from throughout the organizations larger programming landscape (6 months of the year). This role requires a keen understanding of job matching, recruitment practices, & client support to help individuals secure meaningful employment that aligns with their skills, goals, and career aspirations. This role is ideal for a professional with a passion for helping people achieve their career goals and building connections within the community.

    Vacation

    • Eligible team members accrue vacation days at a rate is 1 hour of time for every 30 hours works.
    • Maximum accrual is

    - 10 days - during the first year of employment

    - 15 days - second year

    - 22 days - third year and beyond

    • 10 unused vacation days within a fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) can be carried over to the next fiscal year

    Personal/Discretionary

    • 3 personal days are earned each fiscal year

    HOLIDAYS:

    • Team members receive 11 holidays off per year.
    • Team members who must work on holidays may take floating holidays to compensate, with manager approval.

    Instructions:

    Job Overview:

    • Schedule: 35 hours per week, typical working Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.(evening and weekends as required)
    • Type: Full-time; Regular, Exempt
    • Pay: $65,000--$70,000, annual salary + benefits package
    • Location: Lower East Side (Hybrid Flexibility)

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in job development, human resources, recruitment, or workforce development preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Knowledge of employment laws and job market trends.
    • Familiarity with resume building, interview coaching, and career counseling.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Willingness to travel locally to meet with employers and attend job fairs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Employer Outreach and Relationship Building:

    • Identify and establish partnerships with local businesses, corporations, and organizations.
    • Cultivate relationships with employers to understand their workforce needs and hiring practices.
    • Conduct regular outreach to expand the network of employment opportunities.
    • Develop 6-week internship opportunities for youth ages 16-24 years old in varying worksite sectors
    • Visit potential worksites to meet with the leadership team and pitch SYEP partnerships
    • Conduct cold calls to potential worksites identified in target areas
    • Demonstrate to employers the effectiveness and profitability of employing SYEP youth
    • Assist employers in completing all DYCD paperwork required to become an official worksite partner
    • Facilitate worksite orientation for new and returning worksite partners
    • Assist with orientation for site monitors to ensure an efficient handoff of partnerships

    Client Assessment and Job Matching:

    • Work closely with clients to understand their job skills, experience, and career objectives.
    • Assist clients in identifying suitable job opportunities and provide guidance on applications, resume building, and interview preparation.
    • Match clients to appropriate job openings and facilitate connections with employers.

    Job Development and Placement Support:

    • Develop job leads and arrange placements for clients, ensuring that positions align with their goals and skill sets.
    • Coordinate and schedule interviews between employers and clients.
    • Follow up with employers and clients post-placement to ensure job satisfaction and retention.

    Market Research and Employer Needs Analysis:

    • Stay informed about current job market trends, in-demand industries, and specific skills required.
    • Regularly conduct labor market research to provide clients with up-to-date insights on industry trends.

    Client Support and Career Counseling:

    • Provide ongoing career counseling and support to clients, offering advice on career growth and skills development.
    • Assist clients in overcoming employment barriers, connecting them with resources like training programs and educational opportunities.
    • Provide mock interviews and preparation for participants during worksite assignment
    • Provide on-going retention services and support to both employer and youth throughout program duration

    Reporting and Documentation:

    • Track client employment placements and maintain accurate records of employer contacts and partnerships.
    • Prepare reports on job placement success rates, retention, and employer satisfaction.
