    Description

The future of social justice work is multi-entity. Over the last four years, New Left Accelerator (NLA), our 501(c)(4) and The Capacity Shop (TCS), our separate but affiliated 501(c)(3), have grown to be leading capacity-building providers serving the complex needs of multi-entity organizations leading bold work in the face of rising authoritarianism. With renewed threats to progressive values and democratic institutions, our work has become even more critical.

Today's most effective power-building organizations fighting for racial, social, gender and economic justice and to protect our democracy are multi-entity. That means they are using more than 501(c)3s – 501(C)(4)s, PACs, for-profit corporate structures, and/or other entities – to build power, increase their impact, and win.

NLA and TCS collaborate with front line social justice leaders to build bold and compliant multi-entity power-building work at scale. Together, we explore how to strategically use legal entities to achieve their vision, build multi-entity informed legal and financial teams, strengthen operational capacity, and implement systems that support effective strategy while maintaining a culture of compliance. To learn more about our values and approach to this work, read our core values and Theory of Change.
