    Illegal mining (Galamsey) is devastating Ghana's rivers and water bodies, threatening lives and ecosystems. Join "Project AquaGuard" to fight back!     The Challenge

    Galamsey activities have polluted Ghana’s rivers with mercury and toxic chemicals, making water unsafe for drinking, farming, and fishing. Many communities are struggling to access clean water, while aquatic life is disappearing. It’s time to take action and reclaim our rivers! 🌊

    Volunteer Roles and Activities

    • 💧 River Restoration Activist: Help clean polluted water bodies and protect natural water sources.
    • 🚰 Safe Water Advocate: Educate communities on the dangers of polluted water and promote safer alternatives.
    • 🔬 Water Quality Specialist: Test and analyze water samples to assess pollution levels and recommend solutions.
    • 🌱 Reforestation Champion: Lead tree-planting campaigns along riverbanks to prevent soil erosion and pollution.
    • 📣 Galamsey Awareness Ambassador: Raise awareness about the impacts of Galamsey and advocate for policy changes.

    What You’ll Do

    A $600 fee per volunteer includes:
