    Job Title: Accounting Intern (Part-Time)

    Location: Partners for HOME, Atlanta, GA

    Department: Finance & Accounting

    Reports to: Controller

    Hours: 15-20 hours per week (flexible schedule)

    Compensation: $1,500 per week

    Partners for HOME is dedicated to ending homelessness in our community by providing resources and support for individuals and families in need. We work alongside local agencies, organizations, and government bodies to create sustainable solutions and pathways to housing stability. We are a passionate team committed to making a meaningful impact, and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to assist in managing our financial records while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit accounting.

    Job Overview:

    We are seeking an Accounting Intern to support the finance team in managing day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in nonprofit accounting, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. This is a part-time internship offering valuable experience and exposure to nonprofit financial practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including data entry of financial transactions.
    • Support the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
    • Reconcile bank statements and assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks.
    • Help process donations and grant funds, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Support the preparation of financial statements and audit materials.
    • Help track and organize receipts, invoices, and other financial documentation.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations.
    • Assist in other accounting-related tasks as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in nonprofit accounting and financial management.
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with accounting software is a plus).
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous internship or volunteer experience in accounting or finance.
    • Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and practices (preferred but not required).
