    Job Title: Accounting Intern (Part-Time)

    Location: Partners for HOME, Atlanta, GA

    Department: Finance & Accounting

    Reports to: Controller

    Hours: 15-20 hours per week (flexible schedule)

    Compensation: $1,500 per week

We are a passionate team committed to making a meaningful impact, and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to assist in managing our financial records while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit accounting.

    Job Overview:

    We are seeking an Accounting Intern to support the finance team in managing day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in nonprofit accounting, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. This is a part-time internship offering valuable experience and exposure to nonprofit financial practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including data entry of financial transactions.
    • Support the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
    • Reconcile bank statements and assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks.
    • Help process donations and grant funds, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Support the preparation of financial statements and audit materials.
    • Help track and organize receipts, invoices, and other financial documentation.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations.
    • Assist in other accounting-related tasks as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in nonprofit accounting and financial management.
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with accounting software is a plus).
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous internship or volunteer experience in accounting or finance.
    • Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and practices (preferred but not required).
