About the Role:
We are seeking a committed and community-rooted Part-Time Youth Organizer to help lead grassroots efforts in West Englewood and nearby neighborhoods located in Chicago. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for youth leadership, deep knowledge of local dynamics, and a drive to help build power and connection among residents and institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and build strong relationships with youth, community members, and local organizations in West Englewood and surrounding areas
- Support ongoing campaigns and advocacy initiatives focused on local issues
- Enhance community outreach and communications, both online and in person
- Help organize and facilitate community meetings, trainings, and strategy sessions
- Collaborate with staff and local partners to support youth-led initiatives and events
- Assist in creating flyers, social media content, and other outreach materials
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with West Englewood and surrounding South Side communities
- Experience in youth organizing, community engagement, or grassroots campaigns
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable facilitating group discussions and engaging with diverse groups
- Self-motivated, dependable, and collaborative
- Spanish-speaking is a plus
- Lived experience in the community is highly valued
