Work with a purpose! Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children seeks a Human Resources Manager to oversee all aspects of HR, including recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee relations, and benefits administration.
JOB DUTIES
- Coordinate the recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees.
- Conduct new employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests if relevant; conduct background and reference checks.
- Monitor performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
- Assist in development, implementation and administration of personnel policies and procedures.
- Administer employee benefit programs including insurances and retirement plan.
- Maintain accurate HR employee files and systems, ensuring all information is current and in compliance with licensing requirements.
- Serve as the primary resource for employees on all Human Resources practices, including questions about benefits, payroll, leaves of absences, performance review processes, and management policies.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and other relevant meetings
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Other related tasks as determined by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience, with five years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Human Resources
- Supervisory/management experience in Human Relations field.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve goals through coordination of many individuals and activities
- People-oriented personality and ability to work within a wide variety of cultural, educational and religious differences.
- Ability to handle complex, confidential employee issues with tact, discretion and empathy.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Knowledge of technology and Microsoft office applications.
