    JOB SUMMARY

    This position is an opportunity for an experienced finance and accounting person to move

    from success to significance. The Chief Finance & Administration Officer (CFDO) is primarily

    responsible for Associated Ministries’ accounting operations, reporting and financial integrity.

    They create vibrant and effective financial and accounting policies, systems, and processes; ensure

    that Associated Ministries is in compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements; maintain

    efficient and supportive payroll systems and processes; develop and enhance organizational

    controls; ensure that Associated Ministries’ has strong investment policies, systems and practices;

    provide timely and informative reporting to internal and external users including the Board; and

    facilitate annual audits will be conducted in a timely manner under the auspices of the Board. They

    also are the executive level supervisor for the HR and Operations Manager in their work in Human

    Resources, Facilities and IT Operations and the Bookkeeper.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

    Responsible for cost effective and efficient accounting and financial policies, systems, and

    processes that meet the growing requirements of Associated Ministries.

    • Develop, oversee, and update accounting policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the External Audit, review and analyze results and recommend approval of the

    Audited Financial Statements to the Board’s Finance Committee.

    • Prepare the financial section of the annual report.
    • Oversee Cash Management, including banking relationships.
    • Ensure Associated Ministries complies with all internal policies as well as the financial and

    reporting requirements of private and government funders.

    • Comply with all relevant regulations and ensure filings are completed in a timely manner.
    • Develop and update the Cost Allocation Plan for indirect costs.

    Responsible for developing the annual finance plan and budgeting process.

    • Develop and implement annual budgeting process and timeframe.
    • Develop, with the Executive Director, a draft of an annual budget to be reviewed by the

    Finance Committee, and the Board in support of AM’s strategic plan and vision.

    • Develop quarterly projections for the Finance Committee.

    Responsible for Financial Management Reporting

    • Develop and present monthly Financial Reports with accompanying analysis to Executive

    Director, and subsequently to the Board of Directors’ Treasurer.

    • Provide monthly Financial Reports with accompanying analysis for the Board of Directors.
    • Provide monthly Financial Reports for Executive Director, and directors of appropriate Cost

    Centers with assistance where needed to interpret reports.

    • Develop regular reporting and analysis, including key metrics reports, and conduct ad hoc

    financial analysis as required.

    Responsible for the Insurance and Risk Management program.

    • Oversee the annual insurance renewal process and ensure appropriate coverage
    • Ensure appropriate legal review of contracts and solicit external legal advice as required.
    • Review financials of preferred vendors.
    • Manage ongoing banking relationships for maximum efficiency.
    • Develop cash flow forecasting and maintain a long-term cash forecast.

    Provide leadership and direction to AM operations through the Exec Leadership and other teams

    • Bring insights and issues regarding AM’s financial and administrative operations
    • Jointly create and achieve the strategic plan, mission and vision of AM
    • Demonstrate behaviors that reflect AM’s values in all activities

    Provide high-level direction for HR, IT and Facilities Operations

    • Supervise HR & Operations Manager, who has primary responsibility in these areas
    • Assess operations for potential risks and opportunities
    • Assure effective policies and procedures are up-to-date and implemented
    • Assist in creating efficient systems, processes and controls
    • Participate in setting pay ranges and proposing annual pay increases within budget

    limitations.

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Ø 8 years’ experience with nonprofit accounting and finance with at least 5 years of

    supervisory experience.

    Ø 3 years’ experience budgeting, reporting and compliance with government and private

    funding.

    Ø Proven understanding and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

    Ø Proficient with accounting software systems, QuickBooks highly preferred. Ø Exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative style and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to create strong relationships. Ø Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work effectively within time constraints. Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Ø Experience with strategy development and implementation. Ø Understanding and experience with re-engineering processes and large-scale systems change. Ø Ability to lead complex projects through to an end point. Ø Ability to communicate effectively and lead others through change and new strategic initiatives. Ø Ability to build effective teams, coach and develop others.

    EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES Ø Experience with effective Human Resource/Personnel management. Ø Working knowledge of personnel laws, rules, and regulations. Ø Experience working in payroll and benefit administration. Ø Experience with managing building maintenance operations Ø Knowledgeable of IT applications and developments, able to oversee user support Ø Able to work with and through volunteer, vendor and funder relationships

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Ø Accounting degree.

    Ø Sound knowledge compliance regulations for organizations working within the not-for-

    profit sector

    Ø Knowledge of Financial Accounting Software, particularly QuickBooks.

    COMPENSATION

    Salary Range: $94,398 to $127,438
