    Job Description Summary:

    LMP’s Communications Managers will be a strong written communicator, editor and proofreader passionate about improving access to mental health education and experiential learning. This position is responsible for developing and executing both internal and external communication strategies for our organization, including messaging across various channels like websites and social media, as well as program materials, sales proposals, and more while ensuring consistency with the brand image and promoting the company's mission and culture.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Develop comprehensive communication plans aligned with company goals, including identifying target audiences and key messaging
    • Write and edit various communication materials such as press releases, website copy, company newsletters, social media content, annual impact reports, and marketing materials
    • Foster and manage relationships with media outlets, pitch stories, and respond to press inquiries
    • Collaborate with our Sr. Manager of Programs to assist with program delivery materials including presentation decks and workbook content
    • Collaborate with our Development Manager to create fundraising proposal materials
    • Report to and collaborate with our Executive Director to create conference proposals and board meeting materials
    • Oversee the company's social media presence, including content creation or proofing, engagement, and monitoring with the help of a contractor team to create animations, reels and edit video content
    • Oversee our Google Ad Grant Management contractor team to ensure maximum use of grant dollars and ad alignment with our goals
    • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels and uphold brand guidelines
    • Assist with workplace culture initiatives such as wellness challenges, team building activities, and special occasion celebrations
    • Respond to emails and other communications in a timely manner and attend virtual team meetings weekly
    • Assist in tracking relevant emerging information in the areas of mental health, experiential learning, and industrial psychology
    • Exhibit and maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor to reflect the culture of La Maida Project

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Must have strong writing, proofreading, editing, and communication skills
    • Strong understanding of digital communication platforms
    • Knowledge of and comfortability with Google Workspace, Canva, Cloudways, Slack, and Zoom
    • Media relations experience and ability to research applicable opportunities for press coverage
    • Experience with graphic design of promotional materials, flyers, brochures, etc.
    • Strategic thinking and planning abilities
    • In-depth knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social platforms
    • Proactive work style that takes ownership of their role and looks at the big picture
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to analyze data, organize information and prepare reports
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to provide samples of prior work to show competency in the above areas
    • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, fellow staff members, contractors and partners.
    • Must be able to work independently in a remote setting while also collaborating well with teammates regularly
    • Event planning experience is helpful
    • Ability to travel a few times per year for program engagements and organization retreats
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a minimum of three years of public relations, media, or communications experience
    • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, planning, or a related field from an accredited program
    • Must have reliable internet service, a computer that is in good working order, a workspace free of distractions during work hours
    • Availability M-F from 8 am - 5 pm or 9 am - 6 pm in your local time zone. This is a full-time remote role.
    • Must be located in and legally able to work in the United States

    Pay and Benefits:

    • Salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience
