    About this Role:

    ATASK is seeking a highly organized and collaborative individual with a strong commitment to social justice and cultural humility to join our team as a full-time Shelter Co-Manager: Client Services and Programs. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for victims, survivors, and their children, dedicated to providing comprehensive services to the Asian community. The shelter program includes the Emergency Shelter, a 24-Hour Hotline, and various Client Services Programs, all part of our Asian Shelter and Advocacy Program (ASAP), which offers holistic shelter and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence. This position is based at our Emergency Shelter in Boston, which operates 24/7.

    In this role, the Shelter Co-Manager: Client Services & Program will collaborate with the Shelter Co-Manager: Operations and Administration to oversee staff, interns, and volunteers. while managing the shelter’s daily functions and program initiatives. This individual will foster a positive environment, promote effective communication, and drive our mission of culturally responsive compassionate care and support. Joint leadership will be vital in enhancing both operational excellence and program effectiveness, ensuring that our services meet the needs of those we serve.

    Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating client-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed programs that promote resident well-being and community engagement while ensuring that residents receive compassionate support and access to essential resources. You will cultivate relationships with community partners to enhance program effectiveness and outreach. Additionally, you will collect and analyze feedback to drive continuous improvement in services, supervise shelter staff, coordinate with internal agency teams, and assist in managing daily operations. By supervising shelter staff and leading the team in decision-making, you will contribute to the overall strategic direction and success of the shelter as part of ATASK's management team.

    Location and Commitments:

    1. Full-Time, exempt, 40 hours/week
    2. This is an onsite position with occasional remote flexibility.
    3. Typically, Monday-Friday of various shifts: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    4. Occasional after-hours and weekend work as needed for coverage and to respond to emergencies
    5. Flexible schedule is expected

    Reports to: Clinical Supervisor

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Client Services and Program:

    • Oversee client-centered, trauma-informed services for shelter residents, including case management, crisis intervention and wraparound services.
    • Conduct intake assessments, orientations, and provide case support to clients, ensuring holistic care through partnerships with external providers.
    • Manage client conflicts and mediation.
    • Facilitate communal living and support communication among a diverse population of residents.
    • Facilitate and coordinate psychosocial support groups as needed
    • Provide and offer short term, one-on-one counseling to shelter residents.

    Staff Management:

    • Supervise shelter advocates, residential counselors, and interns, overseeing clinical performance and action plans.
    • Hire, train, and provide ongoing professional development for residential staff.
    • Conduct regular meetings with residential staff and ATASK management.

    Shared Responsibilities:

    • Crisis Management: Jointly manage client and shelter crises, consulting with the management team as needed.
    • Program Policy Review: Collaboratively review and update shelter policies and procedures to enhance safety, security, and program quality.
    • Hotline Support: Provide coverage for the 24-hour hotline and follow-up with callers as necessary.
    • Event and Donation Coordination: Support ATASK fundraising events, coordinate food and supply donations, and manage relationships with key donors and volunteers.
    • Policy and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to ATASK’s policies and procedures, including confidentiality protocols.
    • Oversee compliance with service delivery requirements of funding contracts and grants.

    Program Innovation and Evaluation:

    • Evaluate and enhance existing programs (e.g., Children’s Program, Community Building), and develop new programs (e.g., support groups, survivor leadership) based on client needs.
    • Collect feedback and assess program outcomes to improve services and align with ATASK’s mission.

    Community Partnerships:

    • Develop and strengthen relationships with community partners to provide comprehensive client support, including collaborations with food banks, healthcare providers, and social services.
    • Represent ATASK at community events to raise awareness and build support for shelter programs.

    Data and Reporting:

    • Maintain and update records, including client and program data, and incident reports.
    • Submit grant-related documents and reports as required for funding compliance.

    Qualifications:

    • Education and Experience: MSW, MPH or related experience preferred, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in residential or shelter settings, including program management, supervision, and case management.
    • Clinical Skills: Experience in clinical supervision, case management, individual counseling, and group facilitation.
    • Policies and Procedures: Experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures.
    • Crisis Intervention and Problem-Solving: Strong crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills, especially in high-stress situations.
    • Knowledge of Domestic Violence and Cultural Awareness: Understanding of domestic violence and the impact of trauma on domestic violence survivors and their families, safety issues, and cultural and language barriers.
    • Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, managerial, writing, communication, and presentation skills, with attention to detail.
    • Commitment to Diversity and Inclusivity: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and ability to work effectively with a diverse client population.
    • Work Ethic and Attitude: Dependability, a positive attitude, and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
    • Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Vietnamese or Mandarin preferred but not required.
    • Professional Skills: Strong organizational, managerial, writing, communication, and presentation skills, with a high level of dependability and a positive work ethic.
    • Self-Motivation and Attention to Detail: Self-starter with the ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail.
    • Flexibility: Participate in a rotating after hours on-call schedule and have the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and Office 365.
    • Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred; ability to pass a background check (CORI) required.
