Job Summary/Definition:
NSC’s Refugee Health Promotion (RHP) programming serves refugees, asylees and other humanitarian immigrants within their first five years of arrival or eligibility. The program provides direct services to NSC clients and pilots health education sessions and materials with clients. The program also provides statewide technical assistance on Refugee Health Promotion to resettlement agencies and other providers across the state of Pennsylvania. The Health Promotion Specialist will support all aspects of RHP programming, including pilot sessions with clients, development of written and recorded materials, hosting live trainings for providers, disseminating materials, and data collection and reporting. The main job responsibilities of this position include coordinating with clients and with other members of NSC’s Health Team to facilitate health education sessions, developing health education materials, sending communications to the statewide network and administrative work to support the program.
The Health Promotion Specialist has internal contacts with the entire administrative staff and external contact with clients, visitors, representatives of other social services agencies, and the community. This position has access to sensitive NSC and client information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism. This position is expected to represent NSC in a professional manner.

Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in public health and/or within the refugee and immigrant community.
Minimum Education: BA/BS degree in a related field of study strongly preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification/Licenses: Valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
