Haven's Harvest

Haven’s Harvest helps build community and reduce food waste, one food rescue at a time. Our simple mission as a food rescue organization reflects the multi-faceted ways our organization helps people and the environment—by saving good food from the waste stream (where it is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases), by moving it locally from the food donor to the recipient and building relationships and community by easing food and nutrition insecurity across our region. With a volunteer corps of 200+ members, we move food from food donors such as grocery stores, universities, event venues locally in the community to senior centers, day care centers, faith-based orgs, and others. We differ from food pantries/banks in that we rescue produce, prepared food, and perishable food that pantries can't store. Our logistical model has helped move almost 2 million pounds of food locally per year.
