The Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) seeks a dynamic, strategic and passionate leader as we enter a new and exciting era of growth built on our proud history of homelessness prevention and transforming community shelters.
For over 35 years, HIF has assisted thousands of families remain in, or return to, stable housing through our Homeless Prevention Programs. In partnership with over 80 service agencies and community based organizations, HIF is able to evaluate and qualify recipients for emergency housing grants, identify priority renovation needs for shelters, and assist teachers, non-profit and other public sector workers secure affordable housing.
HIF’s history and support is firmly grounded in the Multifamily Housing Industry leveraging the resources, relationships and expertise of owners, vendors, general contractors and suppliers which help extend the impact of donor contributions including: Preventing over 22,000 individuals from experiencing homelessness, renovating over 130 shelters and transitional housing organizations and placing over 100 community workers into affordable housing.

Position Overview
HIF is seeking a passionate, skilled, strategic, pragmatic, and inspiring leader who is dedicated to serving our communities and building upon our strong organizational culture and impact.
The Executive Director (ED), reporting to the Board of Directors, works in partnership with the Board and Managing Director to ensure the direction and successful organizational outcomes of HIF. Managing a $4 million + budget, the ED leads the staff to implement the organization’s strategic priorities and achieve its annual goals. The ED oversees financial management, overall organizational and stakeholder health, fundraising, and tracking and promoting impact. The position also represents the HIF publicly to Bay Area communities, donors, volunteers, and partner organizations.

HIF’s Board of Directors represents a significant cross section of leaders and companies from the Multifamily Housing Industry. They collaborate closely with the HIF staff, and ED in particular, on strategy and fundraising and serve on our key committees. The Board Members are great advocates and supporters of the ED, the staff and the organization and are essential to HIF’s success :
