    Reports to: Executive Vice President & Chief Communications Officer

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Senior Manager, Communications is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies across PR, Social and Marketing in support of a multi-prong national campaign initiative being led by AFSP’s Programs team. With the support of a multi-year grant, this initiative will reach the construction industry broadly, specifically construction workers with mental health and suicide prevention education and postvention.

    This role will lead the day-to-day efforts to promote the initiative (and campaign) working closely with the Programs Operations team to create, manage and promote education resources, training and offerings. This will include creating compelling content, managing social media presence, coordinating marketing campaign efforts, and ensuring consistent messaging to target audiences, often collaborating with different teams to achieve organizational goals.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Content creation: Writing press releases, website copy, blog posts, social media updates, supporting the development of marketing materials, and other communication content aligned with brand guidelines.
    • Social media management: Monitoring and engaging with audiences on social media platforms, developing social media strategies, and analyzing performance metrics.
    • Campaign development and execution: Planning and managing the marketing campaign across various channels like email, digital advertising, events, and public relations.
    • Media relations: Working with our agency partners to build trusted relationships with journalists, pitching stories, and managing media inquiries.
    • Brand consistency: Ensuring all communication materials reflect the company's brand identity and messaging.
    • Analytics and reporting: Tracking campaign performance, measuring key metrics, and providing data-driven insights to inform future strategies.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field

    Experience 5+ years’ relevant professional experience in marketing and/or communications field, campaign implementation and execution, ideally with a mix of digital and traditional marketing expertise

    Licenses/Certificates N/A

    Technology/Equipment Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint, Adobe Design Suite; Proficiency in project management software

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Master’s degree in Strategic Communications

    Experience and/or Training 5+ years’ relevant professional experience in marketing and/or communications field, campaign implementation and execution, ideally with a mix of digital and traditional marketing expertise

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, critical thinking, verbal/written communication and editing skills.
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and tools
    • Proficiency in graphic design and multimedia creation is a plus
    • Strategic thinking and ability to develop/execute comprehensive communication plans
    • Project management skills to execute campaigns effectively
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
    • Analytical skills to measure campaign performance and identify areas for improvement
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
    • Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and work across multiple areas to contribute to the mission. Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability.
