    Join Our Team as Director of Impact

Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Impact to spearhead our efforts in research, learning, storytelling, and impact measurement. This pivotal role will shape the way we measure success and position our organization as a thought leader in the nonprofit and youth development sectors.

    About the Role

    As the Director of Impact, you will lead a multi-faceted approach to evaluating and enhancing the outcomes of our programs and initiatives. You will collaborate across departments to ensure data and insights drive strategic decisions, inspire stakeholders, and strengthen our mission to empower young leaders.     Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

    • Develop and implement a forward-thinking vision for research, impact measurement, data analytics, and storytelling.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor, integrating impact measurement into program development, fundraising, marketing, and advocacy efforts.
    • Stay ahead of trends and best practices in the nonprofit sector to position Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital as an innovative leader.
    • Foster cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring impact evaluation becomes a cornerstone of our organizational culture.

    Data Analytics, Storytelling & Organizational Learning

    • Oversee the creation of evaluation frameworks that assess the effectiveness of programs and inform continuous improvement.
    • Design and execute strategies to leverage data in crafting narratives that captivate and engage stakeholders.
    • Build a culture of data-driven decision-making that enhances our ability to deliver on our mission.
    • Partner with Marketing & Communications teams to ensure storytelling initiatives align with impact data.

    Special Projects & Priority Implementation

    • Lead mission-critical projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and seamless execution across departments.
    • Monitor the progress of high-priority initiatives, identifying and addressing any obstacles.
    • Drive organizational learning efforts, fostering a shared understanding of impact measurement and its value.

    Budget Oversight & Resource Alignment

    • Manage the department budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize impact.
    • Identify and cultivate funding opportunities and partnerships that enhance our capacity for impact measurement.

    Talent Development & Capacity Building

    • As the department grows, mentor and support team members, building a culture of professional growth and development.
    • Develop and nurture high-potential employees, equipping them with skills in data analytics and impact evaluation.
    • Enhance organizational capacity by integrating evaluation methodologies into staff workflows.

    Who We’re Looking For

    The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, data enthusiast, and effective communicator with a passion for youth development. Here are the key qualifications and skills we’re seeking:

    • Experience in Impact Evaluation and Analytics: At least 5 years in related fields such as impact evaluation, data analysis, or project management.
    • Respectful Engagement: Proven experience in collecting and using community and individual data respectfully.
    • Nonprofit Insight: Familiarity with nonprofit work, either as a staff member or volunteer, is highly valued.
    • Storytelling Expertise: Strong ability to translate data into engaging narratives that inspire action.
    • Leadership and Collaboration: Skilled at leading cross-functional projects and teams.
    • Public Speaking and Communication: Adept at presenting to diverse audiences ranging from small groups to large gatherings.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
    • Passion for Youth Development: Commitment to empowering young leaders and advancing the mission of Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital.
    • Mobility: Access to a personal vehicle for travel to off-site meetings and events.

    The starting range salary for this position is $110,000 to $140,000.

    Compensación

    When joining Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital in a benefit-eligible position, you will enjoy the following generous package:

    • 3 health insurance options (The Council pays the full monthly premium for individual coverage in the HMO or HMO/HSA and contributes $73.89 per pay period to the HSA for employees on that plan.)
    • Dental and vision plan
    • 100% employer-paid life and AD&D insurance

    • Immediate, 100% vested, employer contribution of 3% to 403(b) plan
