The Greater DC Diaper Bank (GDCDB) supports economically vulnerable families in the greater Washington, DC area by collaborating with partners to distribute essential baby and hygiene products and expand access to critical services.
Founded in 2010, GDCDB meets an ongoing need for families, as diapers and other common necessities remain uncovered by social assistance programs like SNAP or WIC. Guided by core principles of dignity, care, learning, and service, GDCDB collects and distributes the supplies and products that families need to be safe, happy, and healthy through four programs:
Diapers and other health essentials provided by GDCDB augment the services and ability of community partners to respond to a family's range of needs. GDCDB’s simple but powerful model pairs essential goods with service agencies’ proven interventions to increase engagement and build trust with the families they serve. Products are distributed to a partner network of 75+ local nonprofits, government agencies, and faith-based organizations. GDCDB has a significant presence in the District of Columbia and Montgomery County, with a growing footprint in Prince George’s County and across Northern Virginia.
GDCDB is now one of the nation’s largest diaper banks and distributes 11+ million diapers and nearly $1 million worth of other items annually to organizations serving tens of thousands of families throughout the region, filling the current gap in available assistance for families in need. Job Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Development (DOD), the Development Coordinator (Coordinator) is vital to GDCDB’s Development Department and is integral to all aspects of the donor cycle. In addition to providing administrative support to both the DOD and department, the Coordinator is responsible for all fundraising data entry and reporting, acknowledgement letters, and other departmental communication including drafting correspondence and providing donor customer service.
This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in gaining fundraising experience and strengthening their data-management skills. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, enjoy outreach and relationship building, and have the ambition to grow and thrive within the organization. They will be a strong team player who communicates professionally and effectively with peers, volunteers, donors, and other community stakeholders.

Working Location and Times: GDCDB serves the Washington, DC region, with a network of partners spanning DC, Montgomery, Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, and Northern Virginia. During the first 90-days in the role, the Development Coordinator is required to work five days a week from offices in Silver Spring, MD. Following the probationary period, and in coordination with the DOD, the Coordinator will be offered the option to work remotely up to two days per week. On occasion, this role will require evening and/or weekend hours.
