As the only agency in San Mateo County with the sole purpose of serving those experiencing intimate partner abuse, CORA provides safety, support and healing. CORA’s comprehensive services include a 24-hour hotline, collaboration with law enforcement, emergency shelter options, legal services and family-centered mental health therapy. In addition, CORA provides community education and prevention programming throughout the county. The Safe House Coordinator works on site at CORA’s safe houses and Housing assistance programs. This role is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of support programs, troubleshooting challenges, and providing supervision for staff working in the Safe House and Housing services at CORA. This role involves direct interaction with clients, ensuring they receive tailored services that promote safety, healing, and independence as well as creating a welcoming and healing community. The Coordinator will leverage program delivery skills to ensure the Housing services are fully staffed and operational, enabling timely access and effective support for clients. By cultivating collaborative relationships with community partners, the Coordinator will ensure the delivery of culturally responsive and impactful services, aligning with CORA's mission to create safer and more resilient communities.
The Ideal candidate has a masters level degree in Social Work or comparable training and several years of experience in the field providing a range of programming to individuals experiencing trauma or managing large life changes (Substance abuse, homelessness. This candidate is excited to design and implement a range of programming focused on developing self- sufficiency for individuals who have experienced intimate partner abuse. ). This position requires you to work with children, and your profession qualifies you as “mandated reporters” of child abuse or neglect, which is found in California Penal Code Section 11165.7. You are required to report suspected cases of abuse and neglect pursuant to California Penal Code Section 11166.5.
CORA HISTORY and OVERVIEW:
CORA has provided services to survivors of intimate partner abuse since 1977. Our Sites include Crisis Intervention Services, including a 24-hour hotline, collaboration with law enforcement, emergency shelter options, and supportive counseling. Family Support Services provides mental health therapy, supportive/transitional housing, and a children’s Site. CORA has robust legal services for survivors of domestic violence and provides educational workshops about the dynamics of domestic violence and healthy relationship skills. CORA is strengths-based, collaborative, accessible, and client-centered. CORA believes that everyone deserves to be treated with respect in their intimate relationships. We provide safety, support and healing to individuals who experience abuse in an intimate relationship and educate the community to break the cycle of domestic violence.
