    Program Context:

    Stockton Service Corps (SSC) is a program of the Reinvent Stockton Foundation. A first-of-its-kind AmeriCorps place-based program, SSC ensures evidence informed AmeriCorps programming addresses pressing needs in Stockton through annual increases in human capital and skilled talent. SSC partners with AmeriCorps programs to implement evidence-informed interventions to create change in education, health, and climate. In its first year, SSC programs served over 5000 students across critical indicators and worked with six AmeriCorps programs. In its second year, SSC will continue to support the coordination and implementation of cradle-to-career programs and will expand their impact to climate needs.

    Position Description:

    Stockton Service Corps (SSC) is searching for a highly skilled and highly motivated individual to serve as the Initiative Coordinator. Reporting to the SSC Associate Director belonging to the SSC Team, the Initiative Coordinator will lead one of our initiatives and work closely with the initiative partners, service members, community based organizations, and community members. The Initiative Coordinator will manage the partnership between SSC and partner organizations with the intention to create strong conditions for service member success. The coordinator will plan and execute monthly 1:1 meetings with each partner, a monthly program leader meeting, and provide ad-hoc support as needed to partners. These points of collaboration create opportunities to support the program as a whole and ensure that the service fellow experience is dynamic and rich in opportunity. The ideal candidate has strong communication and project management skills, has the ability to synthesize new information, identify trends, and report to different stakeholders.

    Work is primarily remote, with Wednesdays as in-office days at the Reinvent Stockton Foundation Headquarters (121 E. Weber Ave. Stockton, CA 95202). There will also be instances of working at partner sites, local school sites, and community partners. Reliable transportation is required. Occasional non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, will be necessary for programming and events.

    Core Responsibilities:

    Partnership and Community Engagement

    • Coordinate among cradle-to-career partners and various agencies to enhance community engagement and service in Stockton.
    • Attend community tabling events, engage with community members, and follow up as needed.
    • Identify and suggest ways to provide differentiated support to partners.
    • Attend local school board meetings, in-person community events, and partner organization events as appropriate.
    • Manage communications with partners, community-based organizations, and community members.
    • Assist in service fellow recruitment efforts by providing support in outreach activities and
    • helping to engage potential candidates about program opportunities.

    Workshops and Facilitation

    • Design and facilitate cradle to career partner meetings, including but not limited to, monthly 1:1’s and monthly program leader meetings.
    • Act as a strategic thought partner and problem solver to cradle to career organizations.
    • Enhance service fellows' professional growth through leadership training and networking opportunities during their service year.
    • Design and create engaging presentations for SSC, including data analysis, slide design, and presentation support.
    • Facilitate leadership development sessions for service fellows.
    • Support and expand partner capacity.
    • Identify, screen, and secure external content experts to support learning and development for service fellows, cradle to career partners, and other similar mission-driven organizations.

    Event Planning

    • Create and execute large community service efforts and projects throughout the city of Stockton, from planning to implementation.
    • Identify trends and provide support to ensure overall alignment to our service vision.
    • Coordinate data collection and analysis to evaluate event effectiveness and enhance participant experience.
    • Prepare reports that support program evaluation and inform future event programming strategies.

    Project Management and Administration

    • Support multiple projects with care, fostering collaboration among team members and partners to achieve shared goals while mindfully managing resources and timelines.
    • Collaborate with the Associate Director to ensure compliance in budgeting, spending, and reporting with grants.
    • Identify metrics to measure the success of the program and continually evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the program using data.

    Additional Duties

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and/or VP, Programs ~10%.
    • Manage Service Fellows serving under the initiative.
    • Supporting the Reinvent Stockton Foundation universe as needed.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of experience in a K-12 educational setting (ex: school, tutoring program, education nonprofit, etc.)
    • Strong experience in public speaking and facilitation
    • Exceptional project management skills
    • Comfortable leading meetings: including designing agendas, facilitating experiences, and creating a seamless follow up.
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal, time management, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and proven ability to handle competing priorities and think critically.
    • Ability to synthesize information and provide updates to stakeholders.
    • Strong focus on customer service.
    • Proficiency with technology including but not limited to: Microsoft Office & Google Suite products.
    • Proven ability to work as both a team member and independent leader.
    • Desire and ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
    • AmeriCorps experience is a plus.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    At Reinvent Stockton Foundation, the home of Stockton Service Corps, we use market data and compensation best practices to determine pay. Alongside our competitive non-profit salary scale we offer a generous benefits package. All RSF staff receive a generous annual wellness fund stipend to promote healthy lifestyles, creativity, and work-life balance. Includes provisions or reimbursement for Medical, Dental, Vision, and retirement plan contributions.

    This role offers a starting salary range of $67,500- 82,500 independent of location. Placement within this range is determined by our compensation philosophy, which prioritizes competency and experience over credentials.

    During the interview process, candidates will have the opportunity to showcase key core competencies, including: project management, strategic thinking, cultural competence, and problem solving. Following the interview, our assessment of these competencies will guide final salary placement within the specified range.

    As we continue refining our evaluation processes, we reserve the right to review and potentially adjust salary after 90 days in the role, based on additional insights.
