CALC is hiring a Development Coordinator to lead fundraising efforts and advance our mission of promoting peace, human dignity, and social, racial and economic justice. Key responsibilities include donor relations, grant management, fundraising campaigns, and developing community partnerships.

Position Key Responsibilities:
- Development Committee Coordination
- Convene and facilitate regular meetings of the CALC Development Committee.
- With the Development Chair and Committee, construct, review, revise and implement an annual Development Plan and Calendar.
- Board Fundraising and Development Engagement
- With the Development Chair, engage the CALC Board of Directors in implementing the Development Plan.
- Report on the progress of the Development Plan at monthly CALC Board meetings.
- Donor/Donation Cultivation
- Make personal contacts to nurture and maintain current major donors.
- Make contacts to identify new major donors.
- Invite CALC supporters to become monthly pledgers; increase the number of pledgers.
- Create and implement a Legacy Giving Program for CALC’s donor base.
- Stewardship, including: prompt thank-you letters to donors, quarterly updates to pledgers, year-end letters to all donors, and accurate and timely record keeping.
- Increase the number of donors from all funding source areas, such as: faith-based organizations, local businesses, BIPOC donors, new to CALC donors, etc.
- Involve board members, staff, and key volunteers or interns with donor work.
- Grant management
- Manage grant cycles and submission: Research, write, assemble all components, complete required reports, submit, and file all documented material in respective folders.
- Requires working with the Co-Director of Programs and program organizers for current program objectives and activities (securing their event reports).
- Maintain documentation of program grant accomplishments and media coverage.
- Annual reports and development marketing materials
- Create and distribute annual reports that include program, donor, and fundraising data.
- Collaborate with program organizers to develop program-specific fundraising materials.
- Appeals, Events, and Campaigns
- Coordinate quarterly donor appeals (writing, editing, mailing, planned giving, etc).
- Coordinate CALC fundraising events (in-person or virtual).
- Be the main point of contact for CALC co-sponsored fundraising events,
- Coordinate special campaigns as they arise (examples: funds for matching grants, highlighting new opportunities, celebrating anniversaries, program-specific fundraising, etc).
- Budget Development and analysis of fundraising trends and needs
- Design strategy and metrics to increase the number of donors and ROI of appeal letters/campaigns/events and make recommendations to improve.
- In collaboration with the Accountant, manage and forecast CALC budget revenue.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma
Experience: 1-3 years experience in development coordination and/or fundraising management, 1-3 years of committee management experience, 1-3 years of community networking experience, and 1-3 years of grant research and writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree is in non-profit development or a related field
Experience: 3+ years experience in development coordination and/or fundraising management, 3+ years of committee management experience, 3+ years of community networking experience, 3+ years of grant research and writing
Skills and Competencies: Computer and social media skills. Knowledge of and experience with data management systems, i.e., GiftWorks and QuickBooks. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred but not required.
