    The Opportunity

    The Chief Program and Operations Officer has strategic and operational responsibility for The Campagna Center (TCC) programs and manages a group of program leaders and operational team members. The CPOO helps to ensure implementation of strategic and organizational priorities and drives accountability for program-level goals, ensuring we achieve desired results across our programs. The CPOO will be highly skilled at building relationships, supporting leaders, setting goals, communicating, influencing, and problem solving to foster organizational success. The CPOO will reports to the President & CEO, serve on the Executive Leadership Team and operate as the designee for the President & CEO in their absence.     Essential Duties

    Drives Quality Improvement and Innovation

    • Develops an annual operations plan linked to strategic priorities and organizational performance data
    • Sets the agenda and focus of annual All Staff event(s) based on annual operations plan
    • Sets the agenda for program and operations team meetings using the annual operations plan to monitor and support progress
    • Develops and delivers presentations that support strategic priorities and presents to staff and external audiences as necessary
    • Ensures that data on program and organizational metrics are being tracked on an annual basis to drive continuous improvement process

    Drives Commitment to Mission and Operational Effectiveness

    • Ensures a robust communication systems exist within programs and across departments such that all employees feel informed and connected to the mission
    • Uses data to inform and provide direction on necessary improvements in workflow processes that cut across multiple programs/departments
    • Provides direction and support to staff responsible for creating standard Operating Procedures

    Participates in External Stakeholder Engagement

    • Communicates program results effectively to media and other key audiences inside and outside of TCC
    • Builds relationships with relevant external stakeholders and partners that support the organization and its mission
    • Partners with President & CEO and/or Chief Development Officer as individual donors and corporate partners are engaged to support TCC programs

    Provides Administrative Leadership & Guidance

    • Supports and engages in problem solving with direct reports as they execute their responsibilities
    • Exercises sound judgement in determining the need to escalate issues
    • Identifies and effectively handles risk management issues
    • Ensures staff leading programs with compliance requirements have systems in place to track and monitor adherence to requirements
    • Ensures that programs receiving federal and state funds have plans in place and are executing those plans to prepare for external audits on schedules set by funding authorities
    • Reviews contracts from direct reports prior to CFO/CEO execution to ensure budget alignment
    • Collaborates with peers to address issues that impact our programs
    • Member of Executive Leadership Team; attends board meetings and liaises with the Program Committee of the Board, and the Policy Council for Head Start

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Knowledge and experience working in organizations that focus on children and youth, with regulatory compliance components, highly desirable
    • Advanced degree in a relevant field and 8 to 10 years of broad management experience leading and managing teams
    • Strong leadership and team-building skills
    • Strategic thinker capable of connecting dots across programs and operations to motivate others for the benefit of achieving mission goals and objectives
    • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
    • Exceptional project/organizational and time management skills
    • “Self-aware” and “other-aware” communicator capable of building and maintaining relationships with peers, Board, staff, and external stakeholders
    • Ability to make decisions under conditions of ambiguity and in crisis situations
    • Ability to generate and use data to drive decision making
    • Ability to understand and interpret financial reports linked to organizational performance
    • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to support program and organization events/activities

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
    • Must be able to move about inside and outside the office and travel to and from, classrooms, event sites and other in-person locations

    Compensation & Benefits

    The salary range for this position is $130,000 – $145,000; starting salary will be determined commensurate with experience operating at a scale similar to the essential duties. TCC offers a generous leave policy and an array of other benefits. This position may exercise a hybrid remote work schedule providing the schedule comports with organizational needs and company policy. The remote work location must allow for commuting to the office.
