Transnational Villages Network/Red de Pueblos Trasnacionales, Inc., is an immigrant-led and immigrant powered 501(c)3 organization founded in 2019 in the Bronx with the mission of advancing full inclusion and access to rights for the over 500,000 indigenous immigrants living in NYC. La Red fulfills its mission through transnational organizing, language justice, grassroots advocacy, popular education, and cultural events.
La Red de Pueblos runs its programming and events using culturally competent services and organizing models from indigenous communities of origin that empower the indigenous immigrant community to fight injustice and overcome the challenges of living in New York City as a new immigrant.
Our activities include an annual School for Life, Health and Justice, an annual family reunification event, a city-wide cultural festival, an indigenous interpreters collective, a media project and several cultural events. La Red recently expanded its services under the NYCBenefits Project to provide case management and public benefits access to participants.
Job Summary
Red de Pueblos seeks an organized and initiative driven Deputy Director of Social Services to lead its NYCBenefits Project. The Deputy Director will be responsible for assisting in the expansion of social services offered at Red de Pueblos, managing the NYCBenefits grant and supervising a full-time case manager. The deputy director will maintain a small case-load assisting immigrant community members in navigating and applying for public benefits, and developing culturally appropriate outreach materials. The Deputy Director will work to address the holistic needs of undocumented, indigenous community members through case management, mental health counseling, referrals and systems navigation, safety planning, and more. This is a unique position that will also allow for community engagement/organizing, coalition building, training, and social media outreach. This is a full-time position that will require occasional availability for weekday evenings and weekends. This will be a hybrid position, in person (at our office in the South Bronx) and remote. The Deputy Director will also receive contracted, clinical supervision.

Physical demands include regular attendance; keyboarding; sitting for long periods (at least 5 hours a day); using public transportation in site location and surrounding areas. Ability to use computer, telephone, and copy machine.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range (or hourly) for this position is $80,000. Transnational Villages Network considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the NYC Benefits grant when extending an offer.
