    The Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence is a group of 40+ member organizations dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by gender-based violence through education, public policy and advocacy, and connecting community members with direct service providers. We lead collaborative work to imagine and realize radical ways to respond to and end gender-based violence, focusing on the intersections between systemic violence and gender-based violence.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Human Resources Manager role encompasses a wide range of HR functions. The position plays a key role in employee relations, conflict resolution, and talent management while also overseeing benefits administration and payroll processing. Additionally, it focuses on internal capacity building through training programs, compliance tracking, and workforce development. The role involves maintaining HR systems, managing employee records, and supporting initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace while ensuring adherence to employment regulations by developing company policies, fostering employee engagement, and implementing effective retention strategies.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    General Human Resources – 60%

    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; hiring and onboarding; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and employment laws and regulations; reviews and creates policies and procedures to maintain compliance.

    Internal Capacity Building – 25%

    • Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientating, and skills training for employees and interns. Presents training in a variety of mediums, and stays apprised of latest industry trends in training and development
    • Monitors compliance and partners with internal stakeholders to develop training programs for staff. Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

    Payroll and Timekeeping – 15%

    • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization required
    • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
    • Familiarity with employment laws required; understanding of nonprofit compliance requirements preferred
    • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
    • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to support diverse teams in a high-impact work environment
    • Experience implementing equitable hiring, retention, and compensation practices
    • Experience in recruitment and onboarding with a focus on mission-aligned candidates
    • Ability to develop and delivery training programs on workplace policies, harassment prevention, self-care, and burnout management
    • Strong emotional intelligence and active listening skills to support staff experiencing vicarious trauma from their work
    • Knowledge of benefits administration, including working with limited resources to provide competitive employee support
    • 40-Hour Domestic Violence training required within 3 months of employment

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • This position operates primarily in hybrid in-person and remote office environment that is accessible
    • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
    • Occasional night and weekend hours may be required

    Compensación

    The Network offers the following paid benefits to all full-time staff:

    • HMO, with the option to enroll in a PPO for an additional cost; 50% coverage for dependents enrolled in the HMO plan.
    • STD/LTD and life insurance, with the option to enroll in voluntary coverage for an additional cost
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
    • Paid time off, including vacation, sick, and 14 holidays
