    JOB SUMMARY: The Program Manager (PM) will coordinate the overall operations, logistics, marketing, and curriculum planning of the GCSA mentorship programs at partner high schools and corporate sites. Working alongside the Program Director, the PM will ensure the program runs smoothly and effectively support both mentees and mentor pairs in achieving postsecondary success.

    The ideal candidate is confident, creative, and deeply committed to supporting a progressive youth development, college and career readiness after-school program. They will effectively utilize excellent facilitation, program coordination, and communication skills to serve and foster growth in cohorts of high school and college students in the GCSA mentorship program.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Program Manager reports to the Program Director.

    OVERALL GOALS:

    • Coordinate the implementation of the mentoring and scholarship program, including class sessions, mentoring sessions, corporate site visits, programming events/trips.
    • Provide ongoing support for high school students, college students, and alumni, strengthening staff-mentee and mentor-mentee relationships to ensure progress toward postsecondary goals and maximize impact for all participants.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program Management & Operations:

    • Manage the overall GCSA program calendar and session schedules.
    • Oversee weekly lesson plan preparation and execution, ensuring the curriculum is engaging and relevant to students’ needs.
    • Handle student and family outreach for the high school mentoring program and ensure smooth coordination of mentoring meetings.
    • Co-manage the GCSA scholarship program, providing college and career counseling, college check-ins, and guidance to students.
    • Support the planning and implementation of program-related events, trips, and community building activities.

    Mentorship & Relationship Building:

    • Facilitate virtual and in-person mentoring sessions and ensure ongoing communication between pairs.
    • Provide coaching support to mentors, positioning them as essential resources for their mentees.
    • Use data analysis to monitor mentor-mentee relationships, adjusting support strategies where necessary to ensure effective partnerships
    • Develop and implement innovative engagement strategies to keep participants engaged and motivated.

    Curriculum & Lesson Facilitation:

    • Lead multiple classroom sessions each week, using GCSA’s curriculum to develop students’ personal, academic, and career-related skills.
    • Collaborate with the program team to design and refine curriculum content, ensuring that it is age-appropriate and aligns with program goals.

    Data & Reporting:

    • Use data analytics to track the progress of students and mentor-mentee relationships, adjusting programmatic efforts based on outcomes.
    • Support the program team with surveying and gathering feedback to continuously improve the program.
    • Help maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all participants, including mentees and mentors.

    Program Marketing & Communication:

    • Manage GCSA’s social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook, to highlight program successes and engage the broader community.
    • Oversee the creation and distribution of the monthly GCSA newsletter.
    • Work closely with the Program Director to assist with fundraising content, recruitment efforts, and marketing the program to potential mentors and partners.
    • Assist the Program Director with materials procurement and ensure the necessary resources are available for all program activities.

    IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL BE/HAVE:

    • A strong belief that all students, regardless of their circumstances, can succeed and achieve postsecondary success.
    • Demonstrated experience working with NYC high school students.
    • Experience in college access and college success advising.
    • Proven ability to generate, revise, and implement age-appropriate curriculum.
    • Experience supporting and/or facilitating groups of individuals.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • A willingness to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of a dynamic team dedicated to improving student outcomes.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: The Program Manager must have a Bachelor's Degree and at least three years of experience working with youth, as well as managing systems and operations.

    Familiarity with New York City high schools and teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must also be comfortable working in a classroom setting.

    MISCELLANEOUS: The Program Manager will perform any other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

    COMPENSATION: Compensation for this position includes a base salary ranging from $60,000 to $70,000, based on experience. Benefits include medical insurance, a 401(k), and three weeks of paid vacation.
