About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team and provide high-quality financial support to the organization. TheJunior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the proper application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for day-to-day maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger accounts, managing accounts payable, preparing monthly/quarterly reconciliations, and supporting non-Finance staff through new employee training, staff education, and on-going staff support. The Junior Accountant also works closely with the GIFFORDS Development team to record contributions in Everyaction (our donor management system), as well as other departments to provide other general accounting assistance.
This is a full-time, hybrid position in Washington, DC. This position will be expected to work a hybrid schedule, with some time in the office and some time remotely during the week. GIFFORDS staff are expected to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, with limited exceptions as required by federal and state law.

Salary + benefits
The salary range for this position is $69,000-76,000, with the exact salary depending on experience. Competitive benefits include employer funded health, dental, and vision insurance; health, transit, and parking flexible spending accounts; 401k plan with 4% employer match; 25 days of paid time off annually plus a paid week vacation between Christmas and New Year’s; and ten paid federal holidays.
