JOB DESCRIPTION:
Humankind LA, formed in 2022, is a non-profit organization that serves the unhoused and adjacent communities in and around Westlake. We recently built the first non-profit Homeless Help Desk in LA, located in MacArthur Park, where we honor our resilient and brave clients by partnering with them to secure housing and set and work toward their goals. In our innovative space, we do the following: advocate for clients in social services and health settings; provide food and supplies; store valuable documents for safekeeping; facilitate client reconnection and communication with family members; refer people to recovery programs and other resources; offer a safe and quiet place that provides a break from the street; and continue to encourage hope and engagement in everyone moving through this busy area.
ROLE SUMMARY:
This volunteer will identify, write, fulfill and track grants on behalf of Humankind LA, in alignment with short- and long-term budget goals. This individual will have the opportunity to establish the grant management function at our non-profit startup, and report to Humankind LA's founder.
