    Alternative Family Services (AFS) is a foster family, adoption and mental health agency serving abused and neglected children throughout the Bay Area since 1978. We also offer mental health services to foster children and an independent living program for foster children preparing to emancipate.

    The mission of AFS is to restore and improve the safety, health and well-being of vulnerable children in families and communities.
