Are you a licensed clinician passionate about supporting foster youth and families? Join Alternative Family Services (AFS) as a Clinical Supervisor in Sacramento, where you will play a critical role in overseeing our Mental Health and WRAP Teams.

The Clinical Supervisor has the responsibility for assisting the Program Director in overseeing the clinical and Quality Improvement aspects of all of Medi-Cal funded programs in the Agency. This person will directly supervise specifically assigned staff members in the areas of social work, case management, quality improvement, and billing and will serve the role as a Working Clinical Director.

The Clinical Supervisor will assist as needed in the development, implementation, and evaluation of casework, intake, staff development, and all Medi-Cal services to children and families within the Agency. The Clinical Supervisor has a solid understanding of case management and family systems and a registered or licensed clinician who has experience in administrative management within public social service, mental health, or managed care systems that serve youth. The Clinical Supervisor will also serve as clinical back-up for mental health staff as needed

As a Clinical Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and mentor a team of talented professionals in the mental health and social work fields
• Directly supervise a dedicated group of 6-8 employees, providing guidance in case management, therapeutic services, and documentation practices
• Ensure compliance with Medi-Cal regulations and foster care requirements, while also advocating for and supporting the needs of children and families within the system
• Be a key part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with county representatives and other community partners
• Take a hands-on approach in delivering high-quality clinical services and acting as clinical back-up when needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Leadership: Provide oversight and clinical direction to staff, ensuring that mental health services align with best practices and are effectively tailored to meet the needs of foster youth.
• Quality Improvement: Drive the continuous improvement of clinical services by ensuring compliance with Medi-Cal and other regulatory standards. Provide supervision and support to staff in documenting treatment plans and progress notes.
• Team Development: Supervise and mentor a team, fostering a culture of growth and professional development. Facilitate staff training and development to ensure competency in providing services to youth in care.
• Case Management Oversight: Assist in case assignments, manage caseloads, and provide direct support when necessary to ensure that services are timely and effective for each client.
• Crisis Management: Provide clinical guidance during emergencies and offer support to staff in handling challenging situations with youth.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
• Education: Master’s Degree in related field
• Experience: Proven experience of two years' working with foster youth and a strong understanding of the unique mental health needs of this population. Prior experience in administrative roles within social services, mental health, or managed care systems is essential.
• Knowledge: Expertise in Medi-Cal mental health services and familiarity with policies and procedures across various counties.
• Leadership: Strong supervisory and mentoring skills, with the ability to provide direction and guidance in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends, to meet the needs of our clients.
• Cultural Competency: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain cultural sensitivity in clinical practices.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle with insurance, and ability to transport clients to various community settings.
• Background clearance and CPR/First Aid certification.

Driving Requirements:

This role involves working directly in the community and visiting foster homes throughout the Sacramento and Stockton regions. Therefore, it is essential that candidates possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain valid automobile insurance that includes their name as an insured driver on the policy at all times.

• Pay range of $85,000-$105,000/annually
• $5,000 sign-on bonus with half paid in first paycheck and second half paid after 90 days of employment
