    The mission of COFEM embraces a community centered approach to promote the advancement of the Latino community through public policy advocacy, educational and cultural programming, strategic mobilization, community organizing, and binational economic development. COFEM is a council of organizations whose members can trace their heritage back to the same town or region of origin in Mexico. The unity engendered by COFEM has helped solidify the development of a bi-national agenda that addresses pertinent immigrant issues in the United States as well as Mexico.
