    About Us

Vickery Meadow is situated between Northwest Highway, Central Expressway, Walnut Hill Lane, and Abrams Road in Dallas. Despite its compact 2.5-mile radius, it boasts a dense population of 40,000+, with more than 5000 children aged 0-18 residing within its boundaries. Residents are from 16 different countries and speak more than 20 languages. 50% of households in this neighborhood earn less than $35,000 per year. 45% of residents are Hispanic, 10% are White, 24% are Black/African-American, and 18% are Asian.

Since 2007, through an array of programs and initiatives, VMYDF has aspired to make holistic impacts on the lives of youth, their families, and the community. In May of 2023, VMYDF moved into a new building called the Success Center. The building is located in the heart of Vickery Meadow and offers our EAGLE Scholars college preparation and success program, parent education programs and support groups (in English, Spanish, Burmese, and Dari), digital literacy, cooking classes, a fall college fair, other youth development activities, and supports cultural celebrations like the Festival of Lights in early December; serving more than 3000 people each year.
