    Role Summary:

    The College Success Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the College Success Director by directly assisting Scholars in grades 7-12 in their academic and personal growth. The coordinator collaborates with staff, parents, and community partners to ensure the successful implementation of college readiness programming and community engagement initiatives. This position focuses on providing mentorship, facilitating programs, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders while managing day-to-day logistics and supporting the overall goals of the College Success program.

    • Program Support and Coordination: Skilled in assisting with program delivery, managing logistics, and ensuring seamless execution of college readiness activities.
    • Relationship Building: Proficient in building and maintaining strong connections with Scholars, families, and community partners to enhance program success.
    • Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong abilities in managing schedules, documenting activities, and using CRM systems for tracking Scholar progress.
    • Diversity and Inclusion: Awareness and sensitivity to cultural diversity, promoting equitable opportunities for all Scholars.

    Role Responsibilities:

    Program Support:

    • Assist the College Success Director in executing college readiness programs, including workshops, college fairs, and career awareness activities.
    • Facilitate smooth transitions for Scholars as they progress through middle school, high school, and into college.
    • Coordinate program logistics such as transportation, scheduling, and inventory management for events and outings.
    • Maintain accurate records of Scholar participation and progress using CRM tools.
    • Assist Director with supervising and managing interns, oversee tasks and activities, and report feedback to the College Success Director.

    Scholar Engagement:

    • Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to Scholars, helping them build self-advocacy and agency.
    • Support Scholars in navigating the educational system, including college applications, financial aid, and scholarship processes.
    • Foster Scholar involvement in cultural, career, and college readiness activities.
    • Assist the College Success Director with social media content creation, event photography, and bi-weekly newsletter development.

    Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Build positive relationships with parents, school staff, and community partners to support Scholar success.
    • Represent the organization at community events and collaborate with external stakeholders to enhance programming.
    • Work with interpreters or bilingual staff to ensure inclusive communication with families from diverse backgrounds.

    Resource Management:

    • Assist in maintaining program resources, ensuring supplies are accounted for and well-organized.
    • Adhere to fiscal and compliance guidelines in all program operations.

    Role Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
    • Experience working with middle and high school students in mentorship, counseling, or educational roles.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask and manage schedules effectively.
    • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and CRM systems.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Willingness to drive a 15-passenger van (must meet insurance requirements).
    • Bilingual proficiency or conversational fluency in a second language is preferred.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.

    • Optional vision and dental (VMYDF pays 50%)
    • 401K (with an employer match of 100% up to 3% and an additional 50% up to 5%)
    • Two (2) weeks of paid vacation per year for the first two years, three (3) weeks of paid vacation for years 3-9, and four (4) weeks of paid vacation for 10+ years of service.
