POSITION SUMMARY: Openhouse seeks a compassionate and innovative Manager of Direct Care Services (MDC) with experience engaging older adults and working within communities that are intersectionally diverse. This leadership role will support 2SLGBTQ+ seniors by ensuring they have access to formal and informal supports to live with dignity and age independently in the community. The ideal candidate embodies an understanding of equity versus equality, healthy boundaries, and uses a trauma-informed approach to support the needs of communities who have been marginalized by systems of care.

The MDC is one of two managers in Openhouse’s Community Support Services department. The MDC supervises 3 programs: DAS (Dept. of Disability and Aging) Case Management, CoC (Continuum of Care) Case Management, and the Mental Health Program. The MDC is a self-starter who is passionate about building social connections and advocacy, possesses innovative ideas, and the energy and impeccable organizational skills to motivate and support their team to meet the service needs of 2SLGBTQ+ elders. In this time, Openhouse Community Support Services are even more critical. Our mission of increasing access to 2SLGBTQ+-aging affirming services, reducing social isolation, and increasing community connectedness for 2SLGBTQ+ seniors lives at the heart of everything we do. The most successful MDC is an individual who proactively brings their love for working with elders and a positive attitude to work and who thrives in an ever-evolving, fast-paced, generative work environment.
