    St. Nicks Alliance, a North Brooklyn-based community organization, seeks to transform the lives of low- and moderate-income people through employment, education, housing, elder care and social services. We do this by delivering impactful services with measurable outcomes to children, adults, and the elderly. As a civic anchor, we carry out this mission within the context of building a sustainable community for all people through the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning. In support of this mission, St. Nicks Alliance Youth and Education operates a comprehensive network of youth services for 2-24 year olds across North Brooklyn. More than 6,000 youth benefit from our early childhood center, 23 afterschool and community centers, 3 community schools, Summer Youth Employment and much more.

    We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist for St. Nicks Alliance Youth and Education, located at 2 Kingsland Avenue in Brooklyn.

    What You’ll Do:

    As the Human Resource Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in building St. Nicks Alliance Youth and Education’s high-performance team of 300+ individuals working directly with children and youth at our afterschool centers, community centers and summer camps. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless, efficient and inclusive processes for recruitment, onboarding and professional development for candidates and new hires in various positions. The Human Resources Generalist will focus primarily on part-time positions, while also providing general support to fill full-time vacancies. Key responsibilities include:

    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies and action plan
    • Manage end to end recruitment cycle which includes sourcing qualified candidates; posting jobs on job boards; and screening applicants to narrow the candidate pool
    • Proactively identify online channels to attract qualified candidates
    • Manage in-house job fairs and attend external job fairs as needed
    • Formalize a Y&E-wide pipeline for part-time positions, based on referrals from program participants, interns and counselor-in-training programs
    • Screen resumes and applications to determine the best fit for open positions with a focus on part-time or seasonal roles
    • Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates
    • Guide new hires through the onboarding experience to meet all compliance requirements
    • Coordinate mandatory trainings for all new hires as well as current staff, as needed (ie. CPR/First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Mandatory Reporting, Anti-Harrassment, etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director or Director of People and Culture

    What We Are Looking For:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
    • At least 3 years of proven experience in managing recruitment, onboarding or trainings, ideally within a fast-paced environment
    • Outstanding organizational skills with a strict attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • A collaborative approach with a dedication to encouraging an inclusive environment
    • Experience in youth services a plus

    What's In It For You:

    • Compensation Range: $65,000-75,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
