    Overview:

    Teens In Public Service is expanding and we are looking to welcome in a Program Director for our summer 2025 program. Teens In Public Service (TIPS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing teen leaders by providing paid summer internships at local nonprofit organizations. With an annual summer cohort of 85+ teen interns and 60+ nonprofit partners, the TIPS program runs on an annual program cycle alongside year-round development initiatives and seasonal events.

    The Program Director will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating all aspects of the TIPS Summer Internship Program. This will be done with the support and collaboration efforts of the TIPS staff - our Executive Director and Development Manager, as well as our strong volunteer base, made up of program alumni, community members, and Board members.

    Ideal candidates will have experience with program management, experience working with high-school aged youth, and strong relationship-building skills with a variety of stakeholders. We are looking for candidates who will be efficient communicators, organized, self-starters, and able to work independently.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Program Management (85%)

    • Lead and manage all aspects of the TIPS Summer Internship Program. Responsibilities related to the execution of the summer program include: event planning, intern onboarding, payroll management, volunteer management, intern and partner engagement, site visit coordination, program evaluation
    • Manage the intern and nonprofit recruitment process, including working with partners and schools to advertise the program and leading informational sessions.
    • Manage the intern application and selection process: set up application on Submittable, manage applications, recruit and manage Selection Committee volunteers to conduct interviews and score applications.
    • Produce segmented reports for the summer program using participant data collected via online surveys, evaluations, and online reporting platforms
    • Manage alumni engagement, including the leadership of TIPS’ Youth Action Committee, made up of recent program alumni who support TIPS on projects and program feedback throughout the academic school year

    Marketing and Communications Management (15%)

    • Website management and design, community outreach and communications
    • Lead on social media management: Create messaging and design for social media content
    • Oversee newsletter and emails to donors, supporters, and alumni

    Required education/skills and experience:

    • 2+ years in a similar program-facing role with experience managing programs and partnerships
    • Experience working or volunteering with high-school aged youth or in youth leadership
    • Experience coordinating events including both in-person and virtual formats
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience communicating through verbal and written formats with a wide variety of stakeholders
    • Proactive, self-starter, problem solver, ability to work collaboratively in a small team
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Adept with technology and willingness to learn new software and platforms

    We have a hybrid work environment, working primarily from home with 2 days in the office each week. This position will be required to work in the office more often during the summer program, including carrying out in-person site visits to our nonprofit partners, and fall fundraising season. The TIPS office is located near University Village.

    Benefits include health and dental insurance (75% employer paid), three-weeks paid time off and generous paid holidays (including the last week of the year off between Dec 24 - Jan 1st), a professional development stipend and a flexible working environment.
