    Description

    Position Summary

    The Scaling Discourse Project Coordinator (Coordinator) will support Campus Compact’s Scaling Discourse in Higher Education Project. It is part of the larger, strategic Public Discourse Initiative that assists colleges and universities in embedding dialogue, discourse, and bridge-building across the institution. The Scaling Discourse in Higher Education Project focuses on strengthening the capacity of colleges and universities to engage with evidence-based, inclusive, and constructive dialogue, discourse, and bridge-building tools. The Coordinator's responsibilities are in three key support areas: project management, data management, and product development. The Coordinator will collaborate with Compact staff members, most frequently the Special Projects Manager (SPM), and directly support the Scaling Discourse in Higher Education Project Team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the flexibility to work with individuals across multiple time zones are essential for this position.

    This is a part-time, contract, and remote position (No benefits). Currently, the position is funded from February through June 30, 2025.

    Position Focus:

    The Coordinator will primarily focus on (1) supporting Project team members in the development of an easy-to-navigate web platform featuring dialogue, discourse, and bridge-building resources and programs; (2) communicating with Project team members as they complete project tasks; (3) identifying, gathering, and organizing, information; and (4) ensuring project deliverables are accurate and error-free.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Management Support

    • Supporting and facilitating communication between team members and Compact staff.
    • Administrative support responsibilities include scheduling meetings, providing team members with follow-up information, gathering fiscal documents for the SPM review, supporting the tracking and monitoring of project milestones, and attending project team and small working group meetings.

    Data Management Support

    • Identifying, gathering, and organizing information on:
      • Foundational, exemplar, and emerging dialogue, discourse, and bridge-building providers, theoretical frameworks, practical application resources, and academic articles.
      • Higher education institution practitioners, programs, and courses that support the project’s foci.

    Product Development Support

    • Reviewing and editing of project deliverables for content clarity as well as stakeholder context.
    • Reviewing project reports, marketing and communication materials, and external facing documents for clarity, consistency, and proper grammar.
    • Entering project information and data into the project online platform as it is developed and refined.

    Candidate Qualifications

    • A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual. We’ll rely on the Coordinator to meet deadlines and deliver consistently high-quality work.
    • Someone who thrives working in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities.
    • Is a strong writer and feels comfortable communicating directly with diverse stakeholders
    • Someone with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in office and related technology (Google Workspace).
    • A degree and/or certification in a related area. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • A minimum of 2 years relevant program and administrative experience; 3 to 5 years is preferred.
    • Has a personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Preferred

    • Knowledge of the dialogue, discourse, deliberation, and/or bridge-building fields.
    • Proficiency with project management software and tools
    • Proficiency with data entry software, web development or design systems, data management tools, and/or other technology systems.

    Physical requirements

    • This is primarily a sedentary position requiring the ability to sit at a desk and use a computer and phone most of the day.
