    Position Summary: Working Credit seeks a Community Engagement Relationship Coordinator to join our Community Engagement team and play a vital role in cultivating and managing relationships with our partners (especially those based in the Chicago and Midwest area). This position is responsible for supporting outreach and retention efforts; developing and managing communications with partners consistently; implementing WC’s place-based approach; and supporting data entry to ensure accurate record keeping.

    Location: Chicago, IL (this job is a remote position but does require a lot of travel and in-person events in Chicago)

    Primary Objectives

    1. Cultivate and retain relationships with partners;
    2. Generate opportunities to engage with/market to prospective participants for program uptake;
    3. Create visibility and trust for Working Credit and our mission to interrupt structural racism through credit building in the community;
    4. Document and maintain records/information for organizational knowledge.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Partnership Cultivation and Management

    1. Manage our place-based strategy in S. Chicago while overseeing our general partners in the Midwest region
    2. Cultivate partnerships with prospective entities and maintain partnerships with existing partners.
    3. Implement the outreach and retention procedures with partners.
    4. Maintain consistent and intentional contact with all partners.
    5. Create and maintain place-based resource guides to support the program team and ensure cross-team knowledge of partners and communities served.
    6. Support team with record keeping and ensure data entry is consistent.
    7. Provide support as needed with community engagement projects.

    Community Engagement and Outreach

    1. Plan and help support with community engagement events to bring awareness to the program and get people to sign up for one-on-one credit building counseling.
    2. Conduct our signature credit building workshop remotely and in-person.
    3. Attend relevant community events to increase our presence and visibility in the communities we serve.
    4. Strategize ways to increase outreach efforts and collaborate across departments to achieve successful outcomes.
    5. Present on Working Credit’s work and mission and serve as a representative of Working Credit in the area.

    Other

    1. Travel to support community engagement events and attend conferences.
    2. Attend counselor team meetings and serve as a liaison between the program and community engagement team to strengthen cross-team support holistically.
    3. Catalogue and organize all historical content for institutional memory.
    4. Write down procedures for partnership cultivation and management and create automation to streamline workflow.
    5. Participate in regular check-in meetings with Community Engagement Team meetings, monthly staff meetings, and other meetings as requested.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    • 2+ years of experience in community engagement/relationship management
    • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
    • Strong ability to be flexible and responsive
    • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills (must be comfortable with public speaking)
    • Must be culturally responsive and have a strong commitment to interrupting structural racism
    • Creative and innovative thinker
    • Must possess the ability to receive feedback and pivot when needed
    • Experience and comfort working independently and remotely with colleagues
    • Experience working with multiple stakeholders
    • Willingness to travel ~30%
