    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Director of Individual Giving and Donor Engagement is responsible for maintaining and growing a development portfolio that is currently $1.5 million, including major gifts (=$25K) and developing talented team members focused toward the goal of significantly increasing donor engagement and fundraising outcomes. BBBSI is seeking a seasoned professional to lead sustainable growth, and work with senior leadership as well as the Governing and Regional Advisory Boards to drive new revenue, maintain and elevate current donors, and expand development capabilities.

    Individuals with a strong connection to the community that BBBSI serves and the Southeastern Pennsylvania/ Southern New Jersey area are given preferential consideration. Work may be in office/field and remote, depending on the needs of the program. Moderate travel to branch offices, community and mission partners may be required, along with some non-traditional work hours to include evenings and weekends.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership, Management, Accountability

    • May lead, manage, and inspire 1-2 direct reports (i.e. Annual Giving Coordinator) toward accountable, goal-oriented outcomes within larger Advancement team
    • Oversee the growth, strategy, cultivation, and stewardship of the Department’s Individual Giving portfolio consisting of four (4) revenue streams: Annual Fund, Major Giving, Leadership Giving, and Planned Giving in partnership with the Vice President, Advancement
    • Develop and manage the Individual Giving program annual plan and budgets, and ensure consistent tracking, reconciliation, and projections
    • Advance the mission and vision of the organization, ensuring integration through data collection, reporting and forecasting compliance through Salesforce (aka Indyforce), and donor campaigns and events through collaboration with relevant departments (Programs, MENTOR IR, Finance and Marketing & Communications) to ensure a One Organization focus on donor recruitment and fundraising
    • Collaborate with Manager, Data Analytics & Development Operations to ensure timely and effective use of the donor database/CRM (Salesforce) and 3rd party tools, to provide accurate record-keeping/reconciliation, and effective reporting on donor portfolios

    Fundraising

    • Maintain and grow a dynamic portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, secure an individual pipeline of $750,000 annually through effective donor management (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship)
    • Develop a moves management strategy and individual pipeline to increase the donor base and revenue
    • Meet annual fundraising goals to ensure organizational sustainability and growth
    • Maintain donor portfolio and pipeline and ensure that all information is entered and accurate in a timely manner
    • Other duties, as assigned

    Pipeline Development and Management

    • Create, implement, and grow a Planned Giving Program in partnership with the Vice President, Advancement
    • Build depth in Agency alumni and volunteer giving
    • Coordinate and oversee of weekly Pipeline meetings with a focus on Moves Management and Donor experience

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Academic Requirements: Bachelor (preferred) or comparable experience

    Skills and Professional Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years of successful experience meeting fundraising goals with responsibilities for individual donor giving, ideally in human services environment
    • Demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting numerous major gifts with a preference for those with experience with planned giving and campaign planning/execution
    • Self-starter, independent worker who can complete tasks in a timely manner and juggle multiple projects, while having a collaborative mindset to engage multiple stakeholders
    • Ability to prioritize and monitor work to ensure objectives and deadlines are met, flexibility, attention to detail
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and adept at relationship building and customer service, internally and externally.
    • Comfortable taking initiative and promoter of operational agility to meet changing donor needs/environmental changes
    • Understanding of trends in philanthropy and individual giving as well as preference given to candidates with knowledge of Philadelphia and greater metro area fundraising landscape
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) and Customer Relationship Management packages (e.g., Salesforce) required along with being comfortable with new technology, and adept with virtual meeting platforms and scheduling systems
    • Daily and dependable access to a car, valid driver's license, and meet State-required automobile insurance minimums.
