    Background

    Founded in 2003, the mission of the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPC) is to improve access to, and quality of treatment services for people living with HIV (PLHIV). The organization is a network of global activists, who joined forces to advocate for equitable access to treatment, at a time when communities faced significant financial and logistical barriers to accessing HIV treatment - despite effective medicines being available. As an issue-based organization, ITPC’s reach includes expanding access to high quality services for key populations, people living with tuberculosis (TB) and viral hepatitis (VH).

    ITPC works with many global consortiums and country partners. We therefore require a consultant who will perform the duties as a Technical Advisor.

    Consultant Scope of Work

    ITPC is seeking a consultant to assist with activities related to a Technical Advisor.

    Duration of Consultancy

    The consultant will be required to assist with activities based on donor – funding relevant to project deliverables.

    Deliverables:

    • Provide technical input and facilitate the execution of the activities of the Community Advocacy Network (CAN) and CAN Advisory Group (CAN AG)
    • Assist with coordinating meetings, webinars and country-to-country learning sessions related to the CAN and CAN AG and/or other relevant partners
    • Review and provide feedback to community engagement and/or Community – Led Monitoring (CLM) as well as advocacy frameworks
    • Review and provide feedback on reports related to community engagement, CLM and advocacy
    • Engage with relevant donors and stakeholders
    • Provide ongoing strategic support to ITPC
    • Attend when invited ITPC meetings, support resource mobilization, advocacy work, and strategic development
    • Assist with the development of treatment education materials related to HIV/AIDS, TB and other disease areas
    • Facilitate treatment education Trainings
    • Provide technical input and facilitate treatment education interventions for the community-led monitoring approach to HIV/AIDS, TB and other disease areas

    Education & Experience Requirements

    • Degree in public health
    • 5-10 years’ experience working within global health
    • 5-10 years’ experience with developing treatment education materials
    • Expert on CLM and community systems strengthening with a familiarity with the CLM processes, and tools
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and partners
    • Working knowledge of TB, as well as working with global health donors within the HIV context
    • Experience working with key and vulnerable population-led networks and communities
