Down Home North Carolina (DHNC) is seeking a full-time Statewide Climate Campaign Coordinator to lead collaboration across diverse organizations within the climate justice movement. This full-time position will strengthen statewide coalitions, influence the equitable distribution of federal climate funds, and advocate for community-driven solutions to address climate challenges.
The Coordinator will be responsible for coalition management, campaign strategy, communication, and organizational leadership, and the management of an internal Climate campaigner position. This role will be housed at Down Home North Carolina, working both to support our local issue campaigns while advancing the shared goals of our statewide climate coalition, which includes the A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI), Climate and Jobs Roundtable, NC Black Alliance, Appalachian Voices, Blueprint NC, and Red-tailed Hawk Collective, among others. In addition to general campaign strategy, the coalition partners will work together to hire six community organizers. These organizers will conduct on-the-ground outreach, gather community input, and support local events.

Required skills and experience:
Personal or professional experience living in rural communities, living in the South, rural organizing, and/or organizing in the South are a plus but not required.
Some irregular hours are required, including nights and weekends. Work location is flexible within North Carolina. Please note that a significant portion of work will be in person.
Applicants must be able and willing to travel regularly for work. Compensation for this full-time staff position is determined by the candidate’s level of experience and ranges between $74,739 - 86,237 annually, including best-in-class health coverage, retirement, sick, vacation, and other benefits. Domestic partners, and spouses are eligible for dental, health and vision insurance the first day of the month following thirty (30) calendar days after the Employee’s hire. The Employer pays 100% of all premiums.
Applicants must be able and willing to travel regularly for work. In-person work will be required. This position reports to the Senior Campaign Strategist.
