    Position Summary:

    The Tenement Museum is seeking a detail-oriented, and technically savvy Web & Email Manager to oversee the Museum’s website and email marketing channels. This role is responsible for maintaining a dynamic and user-friendly web presence, managing digital campaigns that drive engagement, and supporting online revenue growth through ticket sales, donations, and merchandise.

    The ideal candidate has 3+ years of professional experience in web management and email marketing, is comfortable with HTML/CSS, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Email Marketing (50%)

    • Own the planning, creation, and deployment of all email communications including newsletters, event promotions, fundraising campaigns, and ticketing reminders.
    • Design and code custom HTML email.
    • Manage and segment subscriber lists to ensure relevant and personalized outreach.
    • Analyze email performance metrics and recommend optimization strategies.
    • Collaborate with marketing, development, and education teams to support online campaigns, event promotion, and visitor experience.

    Website Management (40%)

    • Manage content updates on TenementMuseum.org using CMS (e.g., WordPress).
    • Liaise with external developers and vendors on technical improvements, bug fixes, and new feature implementations.
    • Ensure web content is accurate, timely, accessible, and aligned with brand and marketing goals.
    • Implement SEO best practices to improve visibility and user engagement.
    • Monitor web analytics and generate routine performance reports using tools such as Google Analytics.

    Digital Integration & Support (10%)

    • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across digital platforms.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between the website, CRM, and third-party tools.
    • Support cross-departmental digital needs, such as form creation and campaign-specific web assets.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, History, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in website and email marketing management.
    • Proficiency in HTML/CSS; experience designing and coding responsive emails.
    • Hands-on experience with CMS platforms (WordPress preferred).
    • Strong copy writing and editing skills.
    • Proficiency with email marketing tools (Account Engagement/Pardot, or similar).
    • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, or similar).
    • Strong grasp of SEO, web analytics, and accessibility best practices.
    • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and project management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and functions.
    • Passion for the mission of the Tenement Museum, a deep appreciation for storytelling, immigration history, and a strong commitment to cultural institutions and historical preservation a plus.
