The Youth Advocacy Foundation (YAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit within the juvenile division of the state public defender agency, the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS). The Youth Advocacy Foundation was established in 2001 with the mission of protecting and advancing the legal and human rights of children to promote their healthy development through active partnerships with local communities. YAF supports initiatives and positions not currently funded by the state to ensure that every child has access to zealous legal representation, essential and vibrant community-based services, and a quality education.
We are seeking an Intake Coordinator / Paralegal to support our EdLaw Project Team to oversee the system for providing information and technical assistance to callers to our statewide helpline. The EdLaw Project seeks to end the school-to-prison pipeline by representing young people pulled into our court system, collaborating with attorneys who represent these young people in their court cases, and collaborating with communities and organizations to create systemic change. The intake coordinator will interact directly with all aspects of the organization’s work.
The Intake Coordinator / Paralegal will assist with legal research, the preparation of legal documents for attorneys as well as the organization of client files. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social justice, be able to work with multiple individuals, and strong multi-tasing skills.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
The salary range for this position is $60,514 - $71,382 commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range is intentionally broad to account for anticipated diversity in advocacy experience and educational background in the applicant pool. Please note that the position is not a state position; the Intake Coordinator / Paralegal will be an employee of the Youth Advocacy Foundation.
