    General description:

    The ULOHC Childcare Department provides financial assistance to eligible parents, guardians, and foster parents to assist with the cost of childcare. As a Program Specialist, you will be responsible for entering data to create childcare agreements. Program Specialists re-evaluate existing cases monthly. You will be responsible for redetermining a family’s continued eligibility and documenting the entire file history. A Program Specialist must also review and utilize multiple systems to ensure provider compliance and eligibility before childcare agreements can be authorized.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Review parent’s renewal applications for accuracy and completeness
    • Enter data into internal and external databases with a high degree of speed and accuracy
    • Calculate client all forms of income including child support
    • Create spreadsheet for tracking
    • Retrieve data from internal and external databases
    • Determine continued eligibility and mail approval or denied documents as appropriate
    • Create childcare agreements
    • Maintain both electronic and non-electronic files
    • Attend training and professional development as needed
    • Provide quality customer service to parents and providers
    • Prepare and distribute appropriate communications to parents and providers
    • Maintain, secure, and safeguard confidential information
    • Other related duties as requested, assigned, or directed

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Ability to enter data with a high degree of speed and accuracy
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to meet productivity standards within established timelines
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma required; Associates degree (preferred)
    • Experience in case management, childcare subsidy or social services background (preferred)

    Hours of operation:

    • Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm 35 hours per week
