    Description

    Position Summary: Working Credit seeks a Community Engagement Relationship Coordinator to join our Community Engagement team and play a vital role in cultivating and managing relationships with our partners. This position is responsible for supporting outreach and retention efforts; developing and managing communications with partners on a consistent basis; implementing WC’s place-based approach; and supporting data entry to ensure accurate record keeping on partners. This position does require routine travel to both place-based sites and organize, plan, and conduct community engagement events. Anticipated travel is 40-50% of job.

    Location: Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, or Georgia (this job is a remote position but does require a lot of travel and in-person events in the region; applicants must reside in the region to be considered)

    Primary Objectives

    1. Cultivate and retain relationships with partners;
    2. Generate opportunities to engage with/market to prospective participants for program uptake;
    3. Create visibility and trust for Working Credit and our mission to interrupt structural racism through credit building in the community;
    4. Document and maintain records/information for organizational knowledge.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Partnership Cultivation and Management

    • Manage our place-based strategies in the southern region
      1. Coordinate and help launch place-based initiative in Tuscaloosa County, AL
      2. Coordinate and help sustain existing place-based presence in Pine Bluff, AR
    • Cultivate partnerships with prospective entities and maintain partnerships with existing partners.
      1. Implement outreach and retention procedures with partners.
      2. Maintain consistent and intentional contact with all partners.
      3. Follow practices and procedures to ensure partnerships meet established criteria.
    • Create and maintain place-based resource guides to support the program team and ensure cross-team knowledge of partners and communities themselves.
    • Support team with record keeping and ensure data entry is consistent.
    • Provide support as needed with community engagement projects.

    Community Engagement and Outreach

    • Plan and host community engagement events to bring awareness to the program and get people to sign up for one-on-one credit building counseling.
    • Conduct our signature credit building workshop in place-based communities.
    • Attend relevant community events to increase our presence and visibility in the communities we serve.
    • Strategize ways to increase outreach efforts and collaborate across departments to achieve successful outcomes.
    • Present Working Credit’s work and mission and serve as a key representative of Working Credit in place-based communities.

    Other

    • Catalogue and organize all historical content for institutional memory.
    • Write down procedures for partnership cultivation and management and create automation to streamline workflow.
    • Participate in regular check-in meetings with Community Engagement Team meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings as requested.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    • 2+ years of experience in community engagement/relationship management
    • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills (must be comfortable with public speaking)
    • Strong ability to be flexible and responsive
    • Must be culturally responsive and have a strong commitment to interrupting structural racism
    • Must possess the ability to receive feedback and pivot when needed
    • Experience and comfort working independently and remotely with colleagues
    • Experience working with multiple stakeholders
    • Creative and innovative thinker
    • Ability to travel ~50%
