    The Coalition for Spiritual and Public Leadership (CSPL) is seeking a full-time Operations and Finance Manager who will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of CSPL. This position is responsible for overseeing financial management, day-to-day operations, and human resources, ensuring alignment with CSPL's mission and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit operations, financial management and planning, coupled with a commitment to social justice and grassroots community agency and empowerment.​

    The ideal candidate will have a passion for collaborating with the staff and members to build a powerful and sustainable spirit-rooted organization and developing dynamic internal and external processes and strategies for advancing our mission and work.     What You’ll Do

    The Operations and Finance Manager is responsible for working with the Executive Director, Leadership Team and Staff on the following:

    Operations Management:

    Strategic Planning Support: Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team in the development, execution and implementation of strategic plans that advance CSPL's mission and goals.​

    Policy Development: Support the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.​

    Human Resources Management: Contribute to HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management. Ensure compliance with labor laws and maintain employee records.​

    Technology and Infrastructure: Support the management of office technology, including hardware, software, data systems, security and integrity of organizational data.​

    Office Management: Support the proper administrative operations of the office and supervise the office administrative staff person.

    Program Support:

    Program Coordination: Work closely with program directors to align financial and operational resources with programmatic needs.​

    Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in the development of metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and support continuous improvement efforts.​

    Event Coordination: Work collaboratively with staff and members to plan and organize major organizational events (ex: annual CSPL Congress logistics) and support the operations and logistics planning for key organizational events.

    Financial Management:

    Budgeting and Financial Planning: Work with Executive Director and finance committee to develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring alignment with CSPL's strategic objectives. Collaborate with senior staff and CSPL’s accountant to forecast financial needs and monitor expenditures.​

    Accounting Oversight: Support oversight of accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, transparency and compliance with donor restrictions, grant requirements, and reconciliation of bank statements in collaboration with CSPL’s Executive Director, accountant and finance committee.

    Audit and Compliance: Coordinate annual audits with CSPL accountant and ensure compliance with 501(c)(3) regulations and other applicable financial standards.​

    Qualifications

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Master’s in Nonprofit Management, Finance, Public Administration, Social Work, or another Human Services field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with nonprofit management, operations and finance experience, preferably within a non-profit setting and with experience supervising preferred.
    • 3-5 years of experience with grassroots organizing or labor is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the various racial, social and economic justice movements and the key issues that people of color and poor and working class families face.
    • Familiar with compliance of 501(c)(3) organizations.
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.

    • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
    • You have a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain rapport with directors, staff members, organizational community members, and supporters.
    • You have the capacity to work and travel during flexible hours in a fast-paced environment, including evenings and weekends, to respond to position needs.
    • You possess strong interpersonal, relationship-building, writing and communication skills.
    • You have a track record of accomplishing ambitious goals and getting results even when there are obstacles. You set a high bar and meet it, because you think three (or 30) steps ahead to anticipate hurdles and come up with pragmatic solutions. You plan backwards and involve stakeholders appropriately.
    • You have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and to collaborate effectively with staff and members of the organization.
    • You recognize the role of race, income, age, immigration status, and other identities in shaping disparities that dehumanize people and communities, and you are passionate about seeing community leaders organize from a relationship and moral center for more equitable policy and structural solutions.
