We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader for this newly created Chief Technology Officer (CTO) position. As the highest-ranking technology executive, the CTO leads the technology vision and digital transformation for the organization worldwide. Partnering with executive leadership, the CTO will focus on leveraging technology and data to enhance health program capabilities, productivity, and impact.
This forward-thinking leader manages the IT operations, infrastructure, applications, security, program support, and innovation. The CTO champions a cybersecurity-conscious culture and implements state-of-the-art systems and policies to mitigate risks across the agency. With strong technical acumen, knowledge of emerging trends in the technology space, and consideration of the deep experience of Mercy Corps' staff, the CTO ensures that Mercy Corps is positioned to evolve its systems and processes to keep pace with the industry. As part of this, the CTO attracts and retains top tech talent to support Mercy Corps' programmatic work.

Living Conditions / Environment Conditions
The position will be in a Mercy Corps corporate headquarters (United States, United Kingdom, or the Netherlands) or regional office (Nairobi, Senegal, Colombia, or Jordan). The position requires up to 25% travel and may include travel to insecure locations with limited freedom of movement and areas with limited amenities. Mercy Corps Team members represent the agency both during and outside of work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit/short-term assignment to a field posting. Staff are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respect local laws, customs, and MC's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.
Salary Range
The salary for the role will vary based on location and experience and the range will start at $225,000 to $250,000 USD. The salary will be benchmarked across our different regions of operation and paid in the regional currency.
