General Responsibilities
The Program Director oversees the Help Center and Senior Community Connections (SCC) programs. This leadership role involves managing a team of professionals, including the Help Center Social Work Supervisor and SCC program staff, ensuring that high-quality, person-centered services are delivered efficiently and effectively. The Program Director will oversee staff management, program resource development, quality assurance, outreach, and training while ensuring program deliverables exceed expectations. The role requires a collaborative leader with strong coaching, multitasking, and relationship-building skills to motivate a highly skilled team. This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the daily operations of the Help Center and SCC programs, ensuring seamless service delivery
Supervise Master’s-level social workers, case managers, a registered nurse, and others as needed across four boroughs
Provide regular supervision, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities
Utilize client record databases to track service units and analyze program performance
Ensure compliance with funder and JASA standards, maintaining high-quality service delivery
Oversee comprehensive screenings and assessments, developing individualized service plans
Develop and maintain relationships with multiple philanthropic funders
Prepare and submit program reports, ensuring timely responses to funder requests
Establish and strengthen internal and external partnerships to enhance service delivery
Conduct outreach and education efforts to increase program visibility and engagement
Contribute to the strategic leadership of the Care Management & Information Services portfolio
Support a strength-based, person-centered approach, promoting client independence and self-determination
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited university with a Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Gerontology or other related field
Minimum of 3-5 years post-master’s level experience in social services
Strong understanding and knowledge of the long-term care support services available to aging adults in New York City
Familiarity with the older adult and people with disabilities populations
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to provide professional supervision and leadership to staff
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Google suite, video conferencing and client databases to enhance effective remote work
Ability to travel across New York City, mainly the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, on public transportation
An understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and individual values have as they relate to serving clients
