    Social Work Volunteering opportunities in Ghana

    St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation Social Work Initiative – a unique, flexible and meaningful experience and opportunity to make a profound impact on impoverished rural communities in Ghana.

    As a volunteer or intern, you'll collaborate with experienced social workers, contributing to positive change in various settings such as schools, orphanages, social welfare units, rehabilitation centers for persons with disabilities, community outreach programs, and child correction centers.

    Embark on a journey of impactful change with Social Work projects for St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation (SMWEF). Explore how these initiatives blend meaningful experience and social impact creating lasting positive change in underserved communities.

    Abusive/Orpahanage/Special Needs Centres and Schools:

    1. Volunteer would have the opportunity to work in Orphanage homes, Special Needs and Care centers etc.
    2. Provision of basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter for children in remand homes and correction centers.
    3. Access to quality education and vocational training programs to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of children into society.
    4. Mental health and psychosocial support services to address trauma, promote healing, and build resilience.
    5. Recreational and extracurricular activities to foster social skills, creativity, and personal development.
    6. Family reunification and aftercare services to facilitate successful transitions back into the community.

    Legal Aid commission:

    Legal representation and advocacy for individuals who cannot afford legal assistance, ensuring access to justice and protection of rights.

    Assistance with legal proceedings, including court appearances, documentation, and case management.

    Education and empowerment programs to inform individuals about their legal rights and responsibilities.

    Collaboration with community organizations and stakeholders to address systemic barriers to justice and advocate for legal reform.

    Support for victims of human rights violations, including survivors of domestic violence, child trafficking, and exploitation.

    Domestic Violence and Victim Support Units:

    Emergency shelter and safe housing options for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

    Crisis intervention services, including 24/7 hotlines, counseling, and safety planning.

    Legal advocacy and support, including assistance with protection orders, court accompaniment, and

    navigating the legal system.

    Trauma-informed care and counseling services for survivors to address emotional, psychological, and physical needs.

    Prevention programs and community education initiatives to raise awareness, promote healthy relationships, and prevent domestic violence.

    Orphanages and Social Welfare

    Departments:

    Comprehensive care and support for orphans and vulnerable children, including shelter, food, education, and healthcare.

    Family strengthening programs to prevent child abandonment and promote family reunification.

    Foster care and adoption services to provide stable and nurturing environments for children without parental care.

    Livelihood Support for the Elderly

    Programs:

    Income-generating activities and vocational training for elderly individuals to support their economic independence.

    Social support services to address isolation, loneliness, and mental health challenges among the elderly.

    Healthcare and medical assistance to ensure access to essential health services and medications.

    Identification and assessment of vulnerable children who are out of school and in need of educational support.

    Scholarship programs and educational sponsorships for brilliant but needy children to access quality education.

    Volunteers Role:
