Animal Coordinator - Hamsters / At-Large Board Member

Small Angels Rescue, Inc. has a rewarding opportunity for a volunteer Animal Coordinator/Board Member who has a passion for animal welfare and a deep commitment to saving the lives of the smallest and most vulnerable pets.

Requirements:

We need someone who is in or around the DC/MD/VA area and who has prior experience with care of hamsters.

Responsibilities:

The Animal Coordinator will oversee all activities related to the hamsters under their care and manage the Team Leaders (if applicable) and/or foster homes.

• Handling intakes and adoptions
• Managing the program's Team Leaders (if applicable) and/or foster homes
• Placing animals into foster homes
• Approving adopters
• Arranging adoptions
• Caring for animals under temporary intake quarantine
• Arranging veterinary care
• Participating in monthly board meetings

As an At-Large Board Member, you will participate in Board Meetings. These are held quarterly in-person in Frederick, Maryland, and monthly via teleconference/Zoom.
